Spring Masters Results

Masters has finished and with it the Spring Season. here I’ll go over all the results of the exciting four days of masters.

Day One

Day one started off with Isurus vs Valorous, giving a 3-0 victory to team Isurus. Next we moved on to NRG eSports vs LG Dire Wolves. As expected, NRG was able to take the win 2-0. Finally, Isurus came back to paly against Black Dragons, but unfortunately Black Dragons took the win 2-1. This means both Black Dragons and NRG eSports moved on to Quarterfinals.

Day Two

Quarterfinals had a ton of exciting games, starting off with Obey Alliance vs NRG eSports. NRG managed to take a game, but in the end, Obey turned up with a 2-1 victory. Obey has been looking good this season and have shown it by beating the former world champions.

Game two saw the first EU/NA showdown between Team Rival vs Luminosity.
Completely blowing everyone away, Rival manages to beat LG 2-1. This team has been looking dominant and they’ve proved their worth against North America.

Game three brought Team Eager vs Black Dragons. Although Eager managed to pull a 2-1 victory, they were looking weaker than usual, struggling to beat the Brazilian team. One of the last North American teams remaining, Eager had a tough journey ahead of them.

Game four was another EU/NA match-up as Team Dignitas vs SoaR Gaming. Dignitas managed to snatch a well earned 2-0 victory, knocking out another North American team.

This concluded day two, and also left North America’s hope for victory in the hands of Eager.

Day Three

Moving on to Semi-Finals, we started off with Team Rival vs Obey Alliance. Although Rival has been looking good, Obey looks even better, gaining a 3-1 victory against the Gauntlet winners. Rival may be done for the Spring Split, but they’re looking good to come back in the Summer.

The second and final set of the day was Team Dignitas vs Team Eager. Unfortunately for Eager, they were no match for European Team Dignitas, who easily took a 3-1 victory. Eager has been known to be innovative when it comes to North America, but this time it
just didn’t workout. Hopefully there will be a change in strategy next split, but for now, Europe is on a whole other level than North America.

This finishes day three, leaving the best-of-five set between Team Dignitas and Obey Alliance.

Day Four

The high-lite of Masters, Team Dignitas vs Obey Alliance. Team Dignitas had a Shaky start, but managed to win Game 1. However, Obey quickly came back at them and took Game 2 away. Looking stronger than ever, Obey forced the surrender from Dignitas and moved on to Game 3. Dignitas quickly gathered themselves and took Game 3 by storm. Playing more aggressive than before, they managed to take a quick win against Obey, who could hardly keep up. In Game 4, Obey manages to take the victory shortly after the 30-minute mark. Having momentum, things were looking good for Obey to win the set. Finally, Game 5 came around and Obey managed to break the back-and-forth win cycles of the EU powerhouses. Unfortunately for Dignitas, a well placed knockup from the Fire Giant spelled their doom and let Obey snowball into a victory.

This marks the end of Spring Masters and crowns Obey Alliance as the victors. If there’s anything that was made obvious from this tournament, it’s that North America has a lot of work to do if they want to stay relevant. All of the EU teams have played phenomenally, and demonstrated why they’re at the top.
