A recent link proves that Breath of the Wild for the Wii U will in fact be released in the month of March. The exact date in March is still unknown. What was not confirmed was if this will also be the release date of Breath of the Wild for the Switch.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild looks great on the Switch– probably better than it it will on the Wii U. With this being said, Nintendo may need to spend more time on the Switch version. This would be very unfortunate since Nintendo fans really hoped that Breath of the Wild would be a launch title for the Switch.

Honestly, I don’t think that Nintendo would have a separate launch date for the Switch version of Breath of the Wild. Zelda is their most anticipated game releasing for the Switch. They are planning to use this anticipation to sell as many consoles as they can, and releasing a Wii U version of the game early will discourage people from opening their checkbook. Therefore, more likely than not, Breath of the Wild for the Switch will release at the same time as the Wii U version, in March.
