WHY ARE PEOPLE NOT OPTING FOR HEALTHY FOOD IN DUBAI?

In the United Arab Emirates, at least 70 percent of men and 67 percent of women over the age of fifteen are said to be overweight. Doctors are appalled at this sudden and extreme onset of this disease in the region where there were no such cases reported a decade ago.

Who Is To Blame For This Fattening Nation?

The ever emerging fast Food lines and sedentary lifestyle has led to many Emirate dwellers to gain weight. Most people lug around their TVs and computers and order fast food. Dubai’s people have developed a preference for ordering fast food rather than opting for healthy food delivery in Dubai.

Most people have stopped exercising and have a sugar and carbohydrate-rich diet. Together, these two are a recipe for disaster. People need to realize that Obesity leads to further health complications which include; hypertension, diabetes type 2, cardiovascular diseases and breathing problems.

It is predicted that the spending on UAE’s health sector is going to be more than double to 47.5 billion dollars by 2040. This is due to the ever-increasing rates of obesity in the region. In 2005, UAE had its biggest contributor of death and disease due to obesity and high body mass index. Heart disease is said to be the biggest killer in the region followed by, car accidents. Diabetes, a disease caused by obesity, has become one of the top ten causes of premature deaths in the UAE.

Nevertheless, the concept of Healthy Food Delivery Dubai is alien to most people dwelling in the region. Absurd as it may seem, most of the UAE residents have the numbers of famous fast food chains in their phones, but none would be able to produce the number of a healthier restaurant. This ease of access to unhealthier options is what is leading to such diseases.

What Needs To Be Done?

Lifestyle modification is what is needed to make sure that obesity is avoided. In case obesity has already been established, then there is a dire need to modify your lifestyle. Losing weight is not about going on a strict diet. It is about eating healthy and in small portions. Yes, it is understandable that you work long hours and cannot make yourself dinner and deliver yourself food. It is not at all acceptable that you opt for high carbohydrate-rich fast food instead of opting for healthy food delivery in Dubai.

To lose weight, you have to go about your day healthily and intuitively, making sure you watch what you eat. Try maintaining the food pyramid and have a balanced diet consisting of protein, greens, fruits, dairy and fiber rich carbs. Remember to split your meals into small portions, five times a day. Make sure that you remain physically active.

Dr. Ruchika, Mukherjee, associate medical director, MENA at Cigna Global Wellbeing Solutions, said: "Our chronic case management programme exposes us to a large number of insured members struggling to manage chronic conditions such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. “

Adopting a lifestyle modification is vital, be it a preventive measure or to lose weight. As a lot of chronic illnesses are the result of odd lifestyle choices, setting grounds for many pre-disposing factors to obesity. Obesity, in turn, will serve to be a predisposing factor to other non-communicable illnesses.

Make sure you take care of yourself. Take the reins of your health before your health takes a toll for the worse. Nothing and no one can be more blessed than those who are healthy and not all the riches in the world can make up for illness. Take care of your health; you only have one of you!
