The Slabb – Review

As a self-confessed choc-a-holic, I’m always on the lookout for new Vegan Chocolate. Sam also has a ridiculous sweet tooth so anything with a bit of sugar and he’s there. So you can imagine my excitement when The Slabb, a chocolate company, got in contact.

The Slabb create chocolate ‘slabs’ that you can buy either through their website, or as monthly subscription boxes. They have a huge non-vegan range and are now starting to expand to Vegan Chocolate, which is a big tick in my books.

They kindly sent us over one of the vegan chocolate bars that they are looking to include in their core range, ‘The Vegan Party One‘. It’s a dark chocolate bar topped with party rings, sprinkles, berry jam and vegan marshmallows. It looks great and I would love to receive this every month, or as a present. Of course, the main thing is the taste. I can tell you it’s delicious. I would have loved to see a few more toppings on there (I think the marshmallows were missing!), as it seemed a bit sparse, but the chocolate was nice and the toppings went well. I particularly liked the berry jam on there. One thing to be aware of though is that, like most vegan chocolate, it is dark chocolate, and quite dark at that. I don’t think many people would be able to eat the whole bar in one sitting. That doesn’t stop it being enjoyable though! They don’t specify what percentage of dark it is, but I would suspect around 70%.

At £5.50 it’s a bit pricey, but I think as a present to someone it’s a really nice little extra. It’s thick chocolate and weighs in at a hefty 150g, so you’re getting a good amount for your money. I have to also add that I adore their branding and love the packaging. Even down to the detail on the back of the bar with ‘Slabb’ printed across really adds to the overall luxe feeling of the chocolate.

What I really like about The Slabb is that they’re customer led. They are looking to expand their vegan range, and so are open to feedback from the community on the sorts of things they’d like to see. So if you have any ideas, then drop them in the comments below!
