Let me start off by saying that Where the Wild Things Are is my favorite book of all time. I love this book. With the new amazing movie set to release on October 16 of 2009, i though i would discuss the book. The bopok starts off with a boy named Max who is sent to his room without dinner for chasing the dog around in a wolf costume with a fork and growling at his mother. While in his room he imagines a magical forest. He is then transported to the mysterious land of the Wild Things. The Wild Things a re a group of mythical creatures. Max is not phased at all by their monstrous appearabce. He conquers their fear tactics by staring them into their yellow eyes without blinking at all. He is then crowned King of All the Wild Things. He then starts to feel homesick and wishes to go home. He makes a journey home to find his supper warm, fresh, and on the table. This book is great for all ages and deserves to be in any library. The theme of the book does not just appeal to children. Where the Wild Things Are is a must read at least. However it should be owned.
