Why Should You Be Excited For ‘The Kingkiller Chronicle’ Movie?

It’s been common knowledge for a while that Lionsgate will bring the award-winning epic fantasy novels known as ‘The Kingkiller Chronicle’ by Patrick Rothfuss to the big-screen. Why should YOU be excited?

These novels consist of ‘The Name Of The Wind’, ‘The Wise Man’s Fear‘ and ‘The Doors of Stone’ (upcoming). Rothfuss has also written a novella and a short story in the same world too, these are: ‘The Slow Regard Of Silent Things‘ (Novella) and ‘The Lightning Tree‘.

The Kingkiller Chronicle is set in a rich, fully ironed out would known as ‘The Four Corners’ or ‘Temerant’. The main character is called Kvothe. The story follows the life told by Kvothe, a life in which he proved to be one of the most feared people in the world, he encounters tragedy, loves women, created incredible songs and gets admitted to the University to study magic against all odds. He makes friends and creates enemies. The books are written in both first and third person.

In comparison to other fantasy out there, it should be compared to  ‘Harry Potter’ and ‘Game Of Thrones’.

It’s hard to explain what it is fully about without containing tons of spoilers, but you should defiantly watch the Movie when it releases, if it’s anything like the books, it’ll be epic! You should be really excited for this one.

Movie News:

In late 2016 it was announced that Lin-Manuel Miranda had joined Lionsgate in the process of creating the movie. The ‘Hamilton’ creator and writer will work closely with Pat Rothfuss to produce and compose the music in the movie, which is a huge part of the books.

Speaking of this project he said:

“Pat Rothfuss’ ‘Kingkiller’ books are among the most read and re-read in our home. It’s a world you want to spend lifetimes in, as his many fans will attest. Pat also writes about the act of making music more beautifully than any novelist I’ve ever read. I can’t wait to play a part in bringing this world to life onscreen.”

‘I have stolen princesses back from sleeping barrow kings. I burned down the town of Trebon. I have spent the night with Felurian and left with both my sanity and my life. I was expelled from the University at a younger age than most people are allowed in. I tread paths by moonlight that others fear to speak of during day. I have talked to Gods, loved women, and written songs that make the minstrels weep.

My name is Kvothe.
You may have heard of me’
