Prop Store – one of the world’s leading film and TV memorabilia companies has today announced the results from yesterday’s largest annual live auction of film and TV memorabilia in the UK, with items on offer fetching in excess of £4.3m ($5.8m).

Prop Store’s unique Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction, was held yesterday (Thursday 20th September 2018) at London’s BFI IMAX proudly presented by ODEON, Europe’s largest cinema group.

Hundreds of bidders from around the world gathered yesterday at the Prop Store’s live auction, which achieved outstanding results over 11 hours of exciting and intensive bidding. Over 500 rare and iconic lots were Sold during Prop Store’s Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction.

Other notable sales included:

  1. Marty McFly’s Hoverboard (Michael J. Fox) from BACK TO THE FUTURE PART II (1989) sold for £36,900 ($48,965)
  2. Stormtrooper Helmet from STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE (1977) sold for £49,200 ($65,287)
  3. Tyler Durden’s Robe (Brad Pitt) from FIGHT CLUB (1999) sold for £14,760 ($19,586)
  4. Indiana Jones’ Bullwhip (Harrison Ford) from INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM (1984) sold for £55,350 ($73,447)
  5. Rose’s Farewell Note (Kate Winslet) from TITANIC (1997) sold for £14,760 ($19,586)
  6. Spike’s Speed Demon Costume (Michael Jackson) from MICHAEL JACKSON’S MOONWALKER (1988) sold for £12,300 ($16,322)
  7. Wonka Bar from WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY (1997) sold for £9,840 ($13,057)
  8. Agent J’s Light-up Noisy Cricket (Will Smith) from MEN IN BLACK (2011) sold for £15,990 ($21,218)
  9. Forrest Gump’s Weathered Bubba Gump Shrimp Hat (Tom Hanks) from FORREST GUMP (1994) sold for £12,300 ($16,322)
  10. Jumanji Game Board from JUMANJI (1995) sold for £46,125 ($61,206)
  11. Edward Scissorhands' (Johnny Depp) Costume Display from EDWARD SCISSORHANDS (1990) sold for £79,950 ($106,090)
  12. Catwoman’s Corset (Michelle Pfeiffer) from BATMAN RETURNS (1992) sold for £9,840 ($7,413)
  13. Terminator’s Jacket (Arnold Schwarzenegger) from THE TERMINATOR (1984) sold for £24,600 ($32,643)

  17. Anakin Skywalker's (Hayden Christensen) Hero Lightsaber from STAR WARS: REVENGE OF THE SITH (2005) sold for £135,300 ($179,538)
  18. Superman (Christopher Reeve) Costume Display from SUPERMAN (1978); SUPERMAN II (1980) sold for £159,900 ($212,181)

The Prop Store auction was suitable for fans with a variety of budgets. Some of the least expensive lots in the auction included an SFX Crew Jacket from STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI (2017) which sold for £615 ($815), and a pair of Olivanders Wand Boxes from HARRY POTTER AND THE PHILOSOPHER'S STONE (2001), which sold for £3,997 ($5,299).

The Prop Store auction coincided with a free, two-week public preview exhibition at the BFI IMAX, Waterloo, London.

Stephen Lane, Prop Store CEO commented on the auction: “Prop Store's annual Entertainment Memorabilia auction has once again broken world records and given collectors an opportunity to acquire some amazing pieces of movie history. Having taken a year to curate the collection, it was exciting to see so many people in attendance and more bidders taking place than ever before.”
