The Dark Souls series is finished for now, according to From Software president, Hidetaka Miyazaki, though fans of the unforgiving franchise can rest assured that the studio is working on other titles.

Speaking in a magazine interview with Japanese publication, Famitsu, and translated by a twitter user named ‘BlackKite’ Miyazaki said that the Souls Series is completely done for now, following the release of the games latest DLC, The Ringed City, and they have no future plans for the series.

Miyazaki was also vague on the details of future games although his comments indicated that he is not concerned if they resemble the Souls series or not, indicating that they may be looking to appeal to a broader audience than the niche fan base that has defined the series’ success.

The Ringed City (2017) DLC pack For Dark Souls 3 (2016) was released earlier this week on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
