20th Century Fox has once again shuffled release dates for its upcoming movies, pushing X-Men: Dark Phoenix back to 2019 and delaying New Mutants further.

Fox recently revealed that they have Pushed back the release date for their latest X-men movie Dark Phoenix to 2019, moving it from the intital release which was set at 2 November 2018. In Dark Phoenix, Mystique, Beast, Storm, Nightcrawler and the rest of the X-Men spring into action when a malevolent, power-hungry force threatens to overtake Jean Grey’s mind. The movie stars Game Of Thrones’ Sophie Turner, Jennifer Lawrence, Ready Player One actor Tye Sheridan as well as Jessica Chastain & Michael Fassbender.

The release date for X-Men: Dark Phoenix is now set at February 14, 2019.

Fox have also pushed back New Mutants even more, a movie that was initially set to release April 13, 2018 but has undergone a complete alteration, including the addition of a new character who was not originally in the movie. Due to the mega-extended production, Fox have pushed the highly-anticipated movie back over a year to August 2, 2019.

The new X-Men movie New Mutants will be the eleventh movie in the franchise, and will explore a different direction and look to scare you.

Some interesting news about this horror movie came from IGN, where the director, Jason Boone, teased that this could be the first of a projected trilogy of X-Men horror movies. He told IGN: “We brought it to FOX as a trilogy of films, really all based on that long run by Sienkiewicz, and kind of incorporates some stuff from later issues in the ‘80s,”

The movie adaptation of  the comics has gained a great response since the trailer was released. The film stars Game Of Thrones star Maisie Williams as well as Anya Taylor-Joy, Alice Braga & British Stranger Things actor Charlie Heaton. With a date pushed back to August 2, 2019, we really cannot wait for this one, and we’ll need to wait over a year longer than was initially planned for it.
