In a first, a Bollywood Film based on the works of Edgar Allen Poe will hit screens in India. The film, titled RedRum A Love Story, is expected to hit theaters on November 13. It stars TV actors Vibhav Roy of Gustakh Dil, Darmiyaan and Doli Armaanon Ki. The female lead is Pakistani actress Saeeda Imtiaaz. This is also one of Tom Alter’s last films. Durgesh Paul and Varun Bhilwada produce Redrum – A Love Story and Dhruv-Saurabh direct. The trailer tells us about a successful singer who’s spiraling down into the world of drug addiction. He then goes on a killing spree, but is haunted by the woman that he kills – even as the police is hot on his heels. The Tell Tale Heart is considered to be one of Poe’s best works and was first published in 1843. It is considered a classic in Gothic fiction. Tell Tale Heart has had several adaptations, including an animation film. This is also one of the few times that Bollywood is adapting a foreign story. Earlier this year, Prawal Raman made Dobara: See Your Evil, which was the Hindi remake of Oculus.
