Well, by looking at the overall performance of Gold in terms of collection, we can say that it managed to grapple a fair amount of money and is further expected to maintain the same charisma on people’s minds and souls.

With Gold becoming yet another success story for Akshay Kumar, it looks like the film will continue to maintain its pace. If we talk about the collection on Monday, then the film witnessed a slight dip, but otherwise, it has been performing quite steady for the last 6 days.

Mouni Roy and Akshay Kumar starrer currently stands somewhere at Rs 75.30 crore after adding Monday’s collection of Rs 4 crore.

As you see, the film has already made this much, it will not take much time to cross Rs 100 crore mark. Another reason of its swift going is almost no competition from any other film except John Abraham’s Satyameva Jayate.

But a far as Akshay Kumar’s film goes, people are really liking it and showering their love. This is not the first film of the actor doing well. There are a plethora of other films in the recent past that performed marvellously well.

Well, we are talking about two of his films at the moment that stood winner at the Box Office and registered their presence in the Rs 100 crore club. They are none other than Rowdy Rathore (133 crore) and Toilet – Ek Prem Katha (134.25 crore).

Ever since Gold was released, it had to compete with another movie. But this is not the case. The film (despite the clash), managed to collect a whopping Rs 25.25 crore on its opening day. And now, it is ruling the box office by its steady collection.

For Akshay Kumar’s Gold, the film is busy getting all the compliments from the audiences. But, on the other side of it, there are messy audiences too which is busy cutting down some crucial numbers for the film.

Now, discussing why the performance of Gold was not so impressive on Monday even though it witnessed a fair collection on the weekend. Gold managed to collect just Rs 4 crore on Monday with a downfall up to 60%.

The above slide is being compared with the collection it had on Friday. However, considering the fact that Gold has entered into its 6th day, a little bit of room can be granted for the film that has been performing quite consistently so far.

As per the Box Office India report, Gold has managed to leave behind John Abraham’s Satyameva Jayate that has just lagged behind with a collection of Rs 53.85 crore so far.

Gold opened with a smooth start

Well, there is no doubt about the fact that Mouni Roy’s starrer film opened with such a pace that it collected wide appreciation from the audience.

This is quite evident after it managed to collect seamlessly at the box office soon after its release. If you go by the figures, Gold collected Rs 25.25 crore on its opening day.

Gold released on August 15, 2018 (Independence Day). The newly released film happens to be the 3rd biggest opener in 2018 so far.

The top 5 films that proved biggest blockbusters in the year 2018 include Sanju that tops the chart. The film that stood 2nd is Race 3 of Salman Khan. The list includes three other films that are Gold, Baaghi 2 and Satyameva Jayate.

Gold is getting mixed reviews from the audiences

As of now, Gold is performing well at the box office. But the film has got mixed reviews both from the audiences and critics.

One of the film critics from NDTV- Saibal Chatterjee gave only 2 stars to the Akshay Kumar starrer.

The critic says “Gold manages to take up a good start initially, but somewhere, down the line, the film takes a backseat and starts focusing on other irrelevant things.”

Gold is directed by Reema Kagti that mainly showcases the life of Tapan Das who is a Hockey coach. He has just one desire to win an Olympic gold medal for the country.

Gold marks the debut of Mouni Roy. Some other stars featuring in the film include Vineet Kumar Singh, Amit Sadh and Kunal Kapoor.
