Confirmed Attractions Coming Soon to Epcot

A Guardians of The Galaxy Attraction is replacing Universe of Energy. The dated Ellen’s Energy Adventure closed for the last time on August 13, 2017. If you have been to Epcot recently you can’t have missed the building of this attraction, it is huge. The attraction will be one of the world’s longest enclosed coasters. A new building is being built next to the current Universe of Energy Building to enclose it.

A new film for the China Pavilion was confirmed at D23. No opening date has yet been set for this Epcot update.

A new Ratatouille Attraction similar to that opened at the Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris in 2014. The attraction will be located in the France Pavilion with the show building being placed between Morocco and France Pavilion. The entrance for the attraction will be on the International Gateway side of the France Pavilion. An early rope drop tip might be that guests arriving early might want to enter via the International Gateway. Perhaps the new Disney Skyliner might become a very popular transport method to enter Epcot?

Although no opening date has been confirmed as yet it has been announced they will be open in time for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary in 2021. Having ridden the French equivalent, with my broken shoulder, earlier this year I think this is going to be a must-do attraction.

Future World Epcot Rumors

It is expected that Future World is set for a massive redesign in coming years. The current Epcot Rumours for Future World are currently on hyperdrive but nothing, except what has already been confirmed, is expected until 2023. WDWThemeParks have created a fantastic timeline of all the current Epcot Rumours for Future World.

World Showcase Epcot Rumours

Illuminations: Reflections of Earth it is difficult to say whether this is a confirmed change or still a rumour as so much information has been leaked. However, an updated version of Illuminations: Reflections of Earth seems almost certain by 2020. Rumours suggest that the update will include movie footage & drones.

A new pavilion in Epcot has been top of many fans lists for many years. Rumours of new World Showcase Pavilions have increased in recent times. Whilst nothing has been confirmed, Brazil seems to be the front-runner. There are also rumours that Spain might be next.

Other rumoured changes to World Showcase include a Mary Poppins ride in the United Kingdom & a Coco update to the boat ride in Epcot.

Already complete or closed:-

An update to Mission Space has now been completed but it is still the worse ride in Walt Disney World in my opinion. In addition, a new Space-themed restaurant has also been confirmed located next to Mission Space. Hopefully, it will be better than the ride.

2017 saw us say goodbye to Ellen’s Energy Adventure & 2018 has seen the closure of the Circle of Life. Circle of Life is an attraction we suspect will be missed by few.

Kidcot has had a refresh for summer 218. Kids will enjoy the new attractions which were overdue for a change.
