Where to Stay For the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

Where to Stay For the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

There are many great times of year to visit Walt Disney World Resort and a lot of it depends on why you plan to visit. If attending the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is your reason why, then a great time to visit is mid-September through mid-October. At this time, the Food & Wine Festival is in full swing, the weather in Central Florida is usually still quite nice and the overall crowd levels are a little lower than “normal.”

The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is a foodie’s dream. And for those sommeliers out there, this one is for you too. In fact, anyone who thinks that they might like a festival that celebrates food and drink of just about any kind should really pay attention.

In case you were wondering, there really is a lot of wine at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.

The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is one of the best festivals at Walt Disney World Resort

Over the years, the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival has grown dramatically. What sprouted from somewhat humble beginnings has become a massive celebration of global food, drink, music and culinary education. It’s popularity continues to grow each year, as do the number of events and offerings that comprise the festival schedule. Where else can you wander from country to country sampling food, wine, beer and more while listening to live music and maybe taking in a seminar or two from some of the culinary world’s biggest stars?

The reality of all this, however, is that with all of this delicious International food and drink tempting your tastebuds, you might just have occasion to over-indulge (just a little bit). When that happens, wouldn’t it be great if you could just stroll back to your Resort hotel for a nap or to lounge by the pool?

With that in mind there are three Walt Disney World Deluxe Resort hotels that I recommend for anyone visiting Walt Disney World with the primary purpose of attending the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.

The Deluxe Resorts on Disney’s Crescent Lake

Festival goers will be happy to know that there are no less than three Disney Deluxe Resorts located within a short walk of the Epcot World Showcase entrance gate, which is the closest entrance to most of the festival activity. There’s nothing more convenient than being able to take a leisurely stroll back to your hotel after a few hours of sampling food and drink and taking in the sights and sounds of Epcot. The convenience of this simply cannot be beat.

Located on the shores of Disney’s Crescent Lake are three Disney Deluxe Resorts:

  1. Disney’s Beach Club Resort
  2. Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
  3. Disney’s Boardwalk Inn

All three of these properties are upscale accommodations and part of Disney’s top tier of Deluxe Resort properties. So you can’t really go wrong with any of them. The major difference might just be how much of a pool person you are.

The Stormalong Bay pool shared by Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.

Stormalong Bay is a legendary pool complex and it’s the big draw at Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Disney’s Yacht Club Resort (these are sister resorts that are side-by-side). While not quite a water park, Stormalong Bay comes pretty close. For anyone who enjoys playing in the water as much as chilling beside the pool, then this is one reason to consider either Disney’s Beach Club Resort or Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. Technically, Disney’s Beach Club Resort is closer to Epcot by a few steps.

Across Crescent Lake is Disney’s Boardwalk Inn. The Boardwalk area of Walt Disney World was inspired by the Atlantic City Boardwalk of days gone by and it’s a great place to relax, go for a stroll and maybe take in a little street enetertainment.

Disney’s Boardwalk Inn is a beautiful property with upscale amenities and the added bonus of being with walking distance of a second Walt Disney World theme park: Disney’s Hollywood Studios. (You can also get to Disney’s Hollywood Studios by boat from all three of these Resorts.)

Make the Most of Your Festival Experience by Staying Close By

If taking in the tastes, sights and sounds of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is your main reason for visiting Walt Disney World then staying at one of these three luxury Disney Resorts is a wise move. Not only will you be able to fully enjoy the festival without worrying about getting “home,” but you will be experiencing some of the best accommodations available at Walt Disney World.

That is luxury Disney travel combination that is simply hard to beat.
