We went for a very brief visit to the Gold Coast QLD for three days. It was a very late Birthday celebration – there are three of us in our family who all have Birthdays in June. Two of our sons along with myself.
We wanted to meet up and do something different together. Yet none of us could get the same time together in June so July was it. The only time we all could get together for three days – mind you not all of us could get together.
You see none of our five boys can be on the same time frame off together. Shift work, school work, life – responsibilities -and two dogs – we never seem to be able to line up time together. But that’s okay cause this time three of our sons were able to meet up together, and in September we are going back again to the Goldcoast for another 2 sons to again meet up.
So we will take what we can when we can. And we will make the most out of our time together.
We Had The Best Weekend
We got to the Goldcoast before our sons could – and we checked into our apartment – we must rent a place that has a kitchen as we have to eat gluten-free and now that I am keto it’s way easier to cook than buy something.
When we walked in we were shocked as Dave had booked a three-bedroom apartment, but the one we walked into was a 2 bedroom.
We grabbed our bags and headed back downstairs, where our email proved that yes we were meant to be in a 3 bedroom apartment. A few minutes later and we were then upgraded to the best of the best apartment that they had on offer – all fully furnished unit with everything from IKEA, including the Red Kitchen – I have always wanted an Ikea Red Kitchen.
The reason we made the Goldcoast our family destination was that we wanted to see OutBack Spectacular with our older sons – we have seen it before with our youngest 2 sons.
The dream sign was in the master bathroom – I can’t tell you how much I love it! It was like it was meant to be
Water is a huge part of our life. We always want to be on the water, or near it, while camping – and can’t wait to take our little trailer sailing boat out for weekends escape.
He is only 14 – would you have a look at the height on him!!! Freaky how tall he has gotten in the last 12 months
Dave and I even went nightclubbing both Friday and Saturday night – our older boys didn’t even go out!!! We out partied them easily
We knew that we wouldn’t get this time together in a little while so we made the most of our time there on the Gold Coast. So glad we did because gee did we get to see some crazy stuff going down on a Saturday night at the night club that was meant to have RNB music!
On Friday night Kyle asked us to take him over to the ride called “Slingshot” – we have the most amazing funniest video of him ever – I just need to work out how to edit the video as it has way too many swear words in it for YouTube to accept it
On the Saturday night we went as a family of five to see Outback Spectacular – wait to you see the amazing meals that the three-course meals are provided, and the horse show – something out of this world.
WE LOVE YOU GOLDCOAST
We can’t wait to return – we are going to go back in September as we hope to meet up with our other sons
HAVE YOU STAYED AT THE GOLDCOAST?
What is your favorite Australia destination?
