Kuang Seafood Rang Nam Alley Bangkok Review

There is a couple of popular seafood restaurants in Bangkok and Kuang Seafood is one of them. They have two outlets in Bangkok and this is the Rang Nam Alley outlet. This seafood restaurant is near Victory Monument and Baiyoke Sky but you do need to take a Grab or taxi as it is far from BTS or Subway stations.

It is one of those restaurants located in the old buildings in Rang Nam. The design of the restaurant is nothing fancy but they do have many tourist guests.

Lucky for us, they brought in many live crabs that evening so we will have to taste some of these live crabs.

We were there for dinner and we started off with Tom Yum Goong. This is spicy and we enjoyed it. The soup is thick, savoury and flavourful. This goes well with fragrant Thai rice.

Bangkok spicy crockle salad is next. For crockles (siham) lovers, this is a must order. We love the texture of the crockle and the spicy taste of this. Remember to order heaps of ice water for this.

Stir Fried water spinach or better known as kang kung in Malaysia. This is the only vegetable dish we ordered and this is okay, nothing to shout about.

The highlight of our dinner, the Curry Crabs. This is not spicy and it has strong flavours of the curry powder. This reminds me of the curry crabs in Southern Thailand and we loved this. You get the curry crabs with the thick curry sauce with eggs. This goes well with rice and only if they have mini buns.

Overall, the pricing of the food here is reasonable except live seafood. The price of the crabs are over 1,000 Baht per kg (depending on stock and season) so do ask for the pricing of the live seafood before you order.
