Fred Olsen's new promotion book three cruises and get the cheapest free has to be one of the best deals I've seen from any of the cruise lines in all my time at cruise.co.uk.
It's superb value so I'm not surprised how many people are taking up the offer but what happens to Fred Olsen's loyal passengers who have already booked one or two cruises with them for next year.
This is the scenario I came across yesterday with two of my passengers who travel with Fred Olsen on a regular basis.
They like to book early to get the best choice of cabins etc so on the 30th June I booked them on to two of Fred Olsen 2015 Voyages.
My clients have since seen the new offer and wanted to know if they could now book a third cruise for free. I asked Fred Olsen the question and this is the response I received.
"I have spoken to my Manager, and unfortunately, we are not able to honour the 3 for 2 deal for Mr xxx bookings.
I have put them on our Complimentary Upgrade List for both bookings, but this is not guaranteed. If an upgrade does become available, they are not obliged to take this if they do not wish to.
I apologise for the situation, but we do have strict terms and conditions with this deal, which we have to stick to"
Personally I feel this is unfair of Fred Olsen a complimentary upgrade would be very nice but a free cruise would be much better!!
I don't know if you agree but I think Fred Olsen should be rewarding their loyal passenger's who book early and not penalising them!
Had this offer been available from the start when the new brochure was launched then I think it would have been just as successful and everyone would be happy!!
