Cruising while pregnant

If you are thinking of taking a Cruise and are also pregnant then you need to make sure you are prepared and  have advised everyone from travel insurance providers to the cruise lines themselves that you are expecting. I have had first hand experience of this whilst in Miami waiting to board the Allure of the Seas. I was 17 weeks pregnant and thought that as long as I had advised the cruise line then I was good to go. Much to my horror this was not the case as I found on arrival after trying to check in I was asked to produce my letter from my doctor to advise I was fit to travel. I didn’t have any information about this and I couldn’t believe being an agent I wasn’t aware of this.  To make matters worse I was travelling on a Sunday and couldn’t contact my docters as they were closed. After a very stressful two hours and a very real prospect of having to fly back home from Miami I was extremely lucky that I managed to get a fax from the hospital and they eventually let me board but it was a very scary situation to be in and one I would not like anyone else to be in.

Only 4 weeks to go so no cruises for me :(
