Chintamani Kar Bird Sanctuary review:-

Chintamani kar Bird Sanctuary is must be visited place for all the bird and nature lovers. This is one Of the best bird sanctuaries in West Bengal And top-rated bird sanctuary in India. The place is also known by narendrapur rathtala kayaler bagan. The place is under Sundarban Biosphere. In 1982 the place is recognized for the bird sanctuary.

In the year of 2004, this local bird sanctuary was undertaken by West Bengal government. This is also called Nanerdrapur bird sanctuary. In 2005, 21 October these local bird sanctuary getting the name of the famous sculpture artist Chintamoni Kar.

Chintamoni Kar bird sanctuary entry fee:-

Entry fee is 50 rupee for per person.

Narendrapur bird sanctuary opening time:-

In winter 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, in summer 6:00 am to 5:00 pm. Night stay is not allowed.

Bird experience:-

In the Chintamani Kar Bird Sanctuary, Forest species are commonly found here. Include Black-naped Monarch, Orange-breasted Green Pigeon, Emerald Dove, Streak-throated Woodpecker, Common Hawk Cuckoo, Crested Serpent Eagle, Orange-headed Thrush, White-throated Fantail, Large-tailed Nightjar, Little Spiderhunter, Ashy Woodswallow, Lineated Barbet and Greater Flameback. Rarities include Tickell’s Thrush, Greater Racket-tailed Drongo, Slaty-legged Crake, Eurasian Woodcock, Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker, Asian Paradise Flycatcher, Grey-headed Fish Eagle, Scaly Thrush, Eyebrowed Thrush, and Blue-throated Flycatcher. The recently rediscovered Large-billed Reed Warbler was found at the edges of the Sanctuary.

In addition, the sanctuary also hosts some small wildlife namely jungle cat, civet cat, monitor lizard, jackal, three-striped Palm Squirrel, Buff-stripped Keelback(Hele Saap), Vine Snake (Laudoga Saap), Water Monitor Lizard(Goshaap) etc.

Sculpture Museum:-

There is also a museum of Chintamoni Kar sculpture and art collection by Chintamoni Kar. The name of this museum is BHASKAR BHAVAN. This museum includes the Department of Culture of the Government of West Bengal.
It is a very good weekend destination near Kolkata But it is restricted for the picnic. This bird shelter is very safe and comfortable for all kind of birds.

How to reach Chintamani Kar bird sanctuary:-

To go to Chintamoni Kar Bird sanctuary, you have to take an auto from Garia or Rajpur towards Baruipur. And come down at the Rothtala stop.

Tripura Sundari temple:

Tripura Sundari Temple is a spiritual place goddess Sundari related to Hindu Goddess Kali and Lord Shiva. The environment was very calm ambience and peaceful also well maintained. I feel it is a hassle-free experience for temple visitors or tourists. At the temple gate, there is a small shop too on the premises. Where anyone can buy prasad, flowers, incense sticks and candles for Tripura Sundari devi ’s puja offering. The Place and the Puja they did was really heart touching and satisfying.

The temple opening time is Morning 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. and evening 05:00 pm to 08:00 p.m. Here almost all kind of rituals are performed like Shraddha, batsarik, marriage, etc and all the rituals are performed in a perfect manner.

Price Chart for all the rituals please contact the mandir office. I think The Archaeological Survey of India should take care of this place. Because many archaeological pieces of evidence are available here which can reveal many new facts about the ancient history of Bengal. For going to this place, take an auto from Garia to Boral and get down to the maa Tripura Sundari temple stoppage.

Narendrapur Ramakrishna mission ashrama:-

It is a unit of Ramakrishna Mission, and the headquarters at Belur. It is established in 1957. The mission school is one of the top schools in India. it is a residential school and affiliated with WBBSE(West Bengal Board of Secondary Education.), and WBCHSE(West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education).

The school have huge playgrounds, gym, high adrenaline tournaments, Annual exhibition to display all sorts of creativity of students, drawing classes, tabla, singing, sitar classes, gardening classes, handicraft classes, drama/theatrics characterise.

A posh auditorium which can make largest cinema halls shy, a celebration of cultural festivals. There is a handcuff store next to Rkm gate. There are various types of handmade items, honey, incense etc. are available. (Another Ramakrishna mission Kolkata is situated in Gariahat, Golpark).

Jora Shiva temple Rajpur:-

First, we saw 300 years old Jora Shiva temple. There are two Shiva temples. One of the temple’s many parts were destroyed but The local people did some renovation of the other temple. Yet The Lord Shiva temple in Kolkata is still worshiped daily and they maintained temples also.

House of the Zamindar Nabin Chanda Ghosh:-

Our next visiting place was Zamindar Nabin Chanda Ghosh’s house. Now their tenth generation is going on. The zamindar house was made in 1720 – 1730. Prafulla Chandra Ghosh is the last zamindar of this dynasty, here Durga Puja was worshipped at Durga Dalan of Zamindar’s time. There was a temple on its side. “Rash Mela” was held there a few years ago.

Hainvi Banga Natya Samaj:-

In Bengali theatre history Harinavi Banga Natya Samaj is oldest Bengal drama society. Bengal’s first playwright Pandit Ram Narayan Tarkaratna established it in the year 1862. They play mainly Bangla drama In West Bengal, the drama is a prime platform for actor and actress. Natak in Kolkata is very rich and cultural part of Bengals society.

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Paternal House:-

Another main attraction in Harinavi is the paternal house of the patriot Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. It is heard from the local people that the Subhash Chandra Bose childhood has spent many days in this parental house. In the Netaji’s birthday, Republic Day and Durga Puja, the Subhash Chandra Bose house will open to the public.

Besides the house of Netaji, there is a museum. The museum presented to Netaji’s life and works and lots of information about Subhash Chandra Bose’s family. It is open to the public throughout the year. (This place is also connected to Subhash Gram station. According to the name of Subhash Chandra Bose, this station is named as Subhash Gram.

House of the Salil Choudhury:-

There is a village named Changripota. There is the house of singer Salil Chowdhury. You can also take a look at the place.

Bipadtarini mandir in Rajpur Kolkata:-

This is the religious place of Maa Bipodtarini a Hindu Maa Kali Idol. Out here, the disciple of Goddess Maa Kali come to devote their prayers.

The temple opening time is Morning 06:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and evening 02:30 pm to 05:00 p.m. There Aarati begins at evening 4 P.M.

To reach Bipodtarini Mandir, take an auto from Sonarpur station, towards Rajpur and come down to the Banshtala stoppage from there Bipodtarini Mandir is 3 mins walking distance.

500 years old Chakrabarty’s Kali Mandir:-

This Kali temple is 500 years old. The Kali Mandir built by this Chakrabarti ’s family. They are still in charge of this Kali temple. The Kali temple surround is decorative, also neat and clean. There is a lake in front of the Kali temple. Here you can spend plenty of time.

If you want to go to this temple, you have to take an auto from Sonarpur, towards Ghasiyara or Kalikapur . and get down to Gramkalikapur stoppage.

Sonarpur book fair:-

Another attraction of Sonarpur is the book fair. This book fair is held in the second week of December every year and lasted for a week. This is held in the field of Sonarpur Railway Quotes. There is a theme of this book fair every year. Apart from the books in this book fair, there is an open stage for drama, dancing, singing etc.

There are also food parks, entertainment parks, science parks, etc. The entry fee for the fair is 10 rupees. Here a number of book publishing houses and book writers are gathered together every year and they publish their books in this fair.

Plan for Sonarpur :-

Metro route:-

First, came to the Kavi Najrul metro station and take an auto for Boral reach Tripura Sundari Mandir again return to Garia metro station and take another auto for Baruipur, get down to Narendrapur stoppage to attend the Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission. After taking another auto and go for Harinavi, after reaching Harinavi take rikswa, and visit Jora Shiv Mandir, the house of the Zamindar Nabin Chanda Ghosh, Bangiya Natya Samaj, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Paternal house, and Changripota village to visit the house of the Salil Choudhury.

Finished Harinavi Rajpur and take another auto towards Baruipur and come down at the Rathtala stoppage and go to Chintamoni Kar bird sanctuary, from there take another auto for Rajpur.

From Raipur hire an auto for Banshtala stoppage and went to the Bipodtarini mandir. Then take another auto for Sonarpur station and from there take an auto for Ghasiyara and get down to the Gram Kalikapur stoppage to visit 500 years old Chakrabarty’s Kali Mandir, and finally take an auto from there and came to the Sonarpur station.

Train route:-

Sealdah to Sonarpur distance by train is 18 km. It’s also a part of Kolkata now. Sonarpur to Sealdah station list – Park Circus, Ballygunge, Dhakuria, Jadavpur, Baghajatin, New Garia, Garia, Narendrapur, and Sonarpur.

First, visit the 500 years old Chakrabarty’s Kali Mandir from Sonarpur station road by auto came back and they do the tour as planned.
