Why Fujinomiya Will Really Peak Your Interest

I was lucky enough to join the Mt. Fuji Food Tour with Arigato Japan in the beautiful town of Fujinomiya (previously called Omiya) and the first stop of the day was the Mount Fuji World Heritage Centre.

This place was so incredible that I decided to write a separate post specifically about this place.

Fujinomiya lies at the base of Mt. Fuji and its on this side of the mountain (at the 5th station) that is the easiest to climb this sacred mountain – to an assent of approx. 2400 meters!

Opening in December 2017, the Mount Fuji World Heritage Centre was designed by famous architect Shigeru Ban, and features a 193m circular slope that allows you to experience climbing Mount Fuji via it’s projections at each stage of the climb.

For only 300 yen, this is seriously one of the best experiences I’ve had in Japan!
