Eczema is a non-infectious disease characterized by skin rashes that have redness, scaly rashes, itching, patches, and flaking. It has similar symptoms of psoriasis.  In Ayurveda, this disease is known as Vicharchika. It occurs when the immune system becomes unbalanced, and affect any part of the skin including scalp, palms, elbows, knees, and nape of the neck.

Eczema is found in all age groups and most commonly it appears between 15 and 40. The condition is considered as a hereditary disease often associated with other allergic conditions like allergic asthma, hay fever, etc.

Causes of Eczema

Eczema mainly causes because of the diet and lifestyle. Uncontrolled usage of dry, stale, cold, salty, and spicy foods stress, late night works, and food can contribute to eczema.



Symptoms of Eczema

Eczema has the symptoms like painful swelling, bleeding cracks, severe scaling, etc. The main symptoms are:

  • Redness on Outer skin
  • Dry and flaky skin
  • Rough and thickened skin
  • Itching
  • Inflammation of skin

Based upon traditional Ayurveda, Eczema or Vicharchika is mainly causing due to the wrong lifestyle. That makes the imbalance of Tri-Doshas(three body factors). Ayurveda tries to balance the proportion of Tri-Doshas mainly the Pitta Dosha (Ayurvedic humor representing Fire). Imbalance of Pitta dosha causing accumulation of toxic substances in the body that leads to Eczema.
