Duchess Theatre, Aldwych, London
Home to award winning comedy, The Play That Goes Wrong. The front of house staff are actually joined by the cast, so watch out for an immersive spectacle and expect a lot of laughs in a very friendly atmosphere as the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society attempt to stage a 1920s murder mystery play.
Aldwych Theatre, Aldwych, London
The Aldych hosts Beautiful, the story of the rise of sixties song writer Carole King. A remarkable tale of how a young girl chases her dreams and ends up writing the sound track of a generation. The theatre under went an extensive refurbishment only a few years ago, so not only is the show amazing and the welcome warm, the auditorium looks beautiful too!
Harold Pinter Theatre, Panton Street, Leicester Square
The Harold Pinter Theatre was home to The Kinks musical, Sunny Afternoon when most of the votes were cast for its friendliness, but that makes no odds to the front of house crew who are currently welcoming theatregoers booked to see Mark Rylance in Nice Fish. From 22 February it is all change again as Imelda Staunton and Conleth Hill star in Edward Albee’s comedy-drama Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf
Queen’s Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue, Soho
London’s Longest running musical, Les Miserables is at the Queen’s Theatre, so it is nice to see that, after over 35 years the ushers, bar stewards and box office staff are still enthusiastic and keen to make your theatre trip an enjoyable one. One Day More? not likely: One Decade more!
Lyceum Theatre, Wellington Street, Covent Garden
Disney’s The Lion King attracts more children than any of our other top five shows, so theatre staff might be forgiven for having an off day when the screaming hordes descend in varying states of over-excited enthusiasm! But big kudos must go to the ladies and gentlemen of front of house for keeping the whole show going!
