What Changes Are Taking Place for Canada’s Express Entry Immigration System?

With key changes made to Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), Canada’s Express Entry program has undergone few changes. Candidates who have a deep desire to be part of the North American nation will be influenced by this alteration through the three federal programs of the express entry.

The changes that will be counted:

Depending on the job offered, now the number of points offered for a nomination certificate or Job Offer will change from its initial 600 points to either 200 or 50 points.

Overseas students who have been part of the nation’s post-secondary education will receive CRS points.

Effects of these changes:

  1. For intercontinental students:
  • If a student has eligible credential for either one or two years from post-secondary education, s/he will be awarded with 15 points.
  • For students who possess three years of either diploma, master’s degree or PHD will be granted 30 points

These points are awarded only to pupils who are part of the Canadian education system. In other words, s/he has to be enrolled in a Canadian institute or has been taking some training course from the country for past eight months. Previously, points were not added to a student but now the Canadian government is making visa process a bit flexible for international student to be a part of the country and later turn into permanent resident.

  1. For Candidates with qualifying job offer:
  • If the qualified job offer is a part of the “group 00” of the NOC (senior management), then the candidate will be given 200 points
  • If the offered job comes under other occupations of “A or B” of the NOC, s/he will be permitted 50 points
  • Points will be given to candidates with an LMIA-approved job offer, or holders of a work permit issued through international agreements such as NAFTA, or through section 205 of the Canadian regulations such as inter-company transferees
  • 600 points will be awarded to those who will possess a nomination certificate from a Canadian province

In addition to the above changes, extra thirty days will be granted for submitting application for permanent residency (PR),   to an applicant who possesses an invitation to apply. In other words, instead of sixty days now it is ninety days!! So with all these changes under the Canada’s Express Entry Immigration System, take the maximum benefit of Canada visa and PR.
