Freedom is two wheels..taking you and your soul where its needs to be..
There is a sense of freedom that's unique to motorcycles..its true, as time goes by..our dreams get wilder..and to go faster and to get further...its just what i needed when life was getting to me and i want to get away for good..
I just never liked travelling from point A to B.. I prefer taking the scenic route to find amazing places and hidden spots along the way,sure, it takes longer ,wears me out more than anything, and often means i arrive well after dark..But it's fun,exciting,and always gives me some good stories to tell..
finally it was time for the LONG WAY BACK HOME..
This is my journey through the EAST COST HIGHWAY ( NH -49) covering MADURAI--RAMESHWARAM--THOOTHUKUDI--NAGERCOVIL--KANYAKUMARARI and back to my home in ALAPPUZHA..which covers a distance of 850+ km's.. which took me around 16 hrs to complete ..
I came to know about the east cost highway from a fellow biker..ever since i heard his stories..i wanted to make my own..
so, ECR (east cost road)expressway begins in Chennai and extends till Thoothukudi and Kanyakumari.. its known to be one of the must visit destinations if you love bikes and travelling.........and..let's get to the real deal..
As usual i didn't get any sleep on the day of the ride..the thoughts of riding such a long distance kept me awake all night..finally got some sleep but barely slept for 4 hrs and woke up early....Made a cup of black tea...got into my riding gears..started her up and set my Gps to Madurai and set off to realize my dream..
Next on the list was RAMANATHAPURAM and THOOTHUKUDI ..which were about two and a half hours away..which meant i was just 150 km's away from realizing my dream of riding on the east cost highway..
I had the widest smile inside my helmet when i saw the sign that showed i was entering NH-49 (east cost highway)..I've never felt more happier..it was much better than i ever imagined...the roads were just perfect..there were barely any traffic.. just open roads in front..with a heck of a view of the ocean on one side..you could just pin the accelerator at its max for hours...and i was covering the distance like a mad man...it was better than i ever expected..it was truly a biker's paradise..
Thoothukudi to Nagarcoil was just awesome..the 4-lane roads where just too good..i feel Kerala govt should learn something from the tamilian's.. they know how to make beautiful roads....NH-7 was too good to be true...
There was wind mills till the eyes could see..which was enough to keep me occupied as i munched down the distance....by 2:15 pm i reached Kanyakumari...which was much earlier than expected....Barely stopped for 10 minutes and i was on the bike again..chasing the sun again..now in the right direction to my home..
By the time i rolled into my home i had ridden 850+ km's and spend over 16 hrs on the road..This definitely had been the long way around..with my heart filled with so much memories..i had a peaceful sleep at last..
So was it worth the risk..? i don't know..but in the end the good moments outweigh the risk..riding makes me happy..and that's it...i just feel something inside..it makes all the bad moments go away...
Motorcycles thought me everything about life...they thought how things work..motorcycles put me in touch with wonderful people..it makes you feel how good the world is..The best moments of my life are from motorcycle rides....
I know.. everyone cannot figure out the connection between a biker and his ride...and that's the beauty of it....it's exclusive..it's just for us riders...no one in the world could understand that ..
Finally the machine that made it possible...my time machine..my Mile Muncher... #cbr250 ...Girl i'm ready for my next adventure "#70 is next" .....

Its always fun to chase the sun in the early morning..MADURAI was the first destination on the map..which was just 4 hrs from my home in Coimbatore..
with the sun coming up at a distance i was entering Madurai...
its not my first time in Madurai but still it feel exciting..and it doesn't fail to amuse me each time..it took around four and a half hours to reach Madurai..found a quite place near the Vaigai river and stopped for a quick break...
