HP CM 2320 REGISTRATION PROBLEM: BLURRY PRINTS

HP CM 2320 REGISTRATION PROBLEM: BLURRY PRINTS

I did some checking and the path to repair is as follows

Per the book, Replace the color misregistration sensor. if issue remains replace the ITB belt. if issue remains replace the toner cartridge tray. If issue remains replace the DC Controller. From experience and talking to other techs. That is going to be an expensive lesson in not repairing a machine.

So I did some checking… and found the following steps to repair the new hp color cm machines.

Do a NVRAM initialisation first :(10 TIMES OR UNTIL FIXED WHICHEVER COMES FIRST)

1) Perform NVRAM initialisation : Power off, Press and hold right arrow and cancel buttons together, Power on, and release these buttons when the words Permanent Storage Init appears on the screen, Wait a while for the normal screen to appear.

2) Perform Print Quailty calibration : Set up, System set up, Print Quality, Calibrate color, Calibrate now, Wait a while for the normal screen to appear.

3) Check alignment : Set up, Reports, Supplies Status page. The three colours should be perfectly aligned inside each status box, and with the 6 black pin balls.

SEE IF THAT FIXES IT IF NOT TRY

remove the cartridge tray. Take the 2 screws out for the colour misregistration sensor. Find the small opening and white sensor eye. Blast it with some Compressed Air. Lifted up the ITB. Spray compressed air under and over the ITB. Put everything back. Force it to calibrate.

IF NOT THEN YOUR NEXT BET IS TO REPLACE THE toner CARTRIDGES… USE OFFICIAL HP NOT COMPATIBLES… AND TRY BOTH STEPS LISTED ABOVE…

THEORY… WITH NEW CARTRIDGES COLORS CALIBRATE AND ALIGN… IF ANY CARTRIDGE IS NOT PRINTING AT A HIGH ENOUGH QUALITY THEN CALIBRATION AND ALIGNMENT VALUES START DRIFTING… YOU COULD TRY SHAKING ALL CARTRIDGES OR JUST THE NEW CARTRIDGE TO SEE IF THE AGITATION WILL HELP BUT YOU WILL STILL HAVE TO DO NVRAM RESET TO CHANGE THE ALIGNMENT AND CALIBRATION.

IN CONCLUSION… ITS NOT PARTS… ITS YOUR TONER… CLEAN TILL THE COWS COME HOME… ITS GOING TO BE TONER… REPLACE PARTS… ITS GOING TO BE TONER…
