How To Schedule eMail In Gmail?

Today in the modern era, internet has become a necessity for us with the Email being the most basic and important application of it. The very first thing that comes to our mind while thinking of e-mail is none other than as gmail. It is the most innovative and popular e-mail service provider on this internet. But most of them are unaware of the true potential of this email service provider. One such advanced feature which most of the people are unaware is going to be discussed today.

Most of the times, we might need to send birthday, festival or occasional greetings on a particular day but, might be forgotten. How to schedule emails in Gmail

Following are the steps describing the detailed process of scheduling e-mails:

Step 1:

Download and install Boomerang (a web browser plugin for Google Chrome, Safari, and Firefox web browsers that add time awareness to email) from the web stores of the browsers.

Wait till the installation completes and then it will give you a notification as shown in the image below:

Step 3:

Once it has finished installing restart your browser and then log into your gmail account and click on Compose button.

The new Message dialog box appears. Then, click on full-screen window icon in the top rightest corner of the new message dialog box.

Step 5:

Once it goes full screen, a new dialog box appears saying “Thanks for installing Boomerang”. Then click on Start button.

Step 6:

It will start giving instructions about using the boomerang and its various features. You can even click the Skip button if you are already known to them.

Step 7:

To schedule a message you need to type everything as usual like subject, message, ID of a sender and just before clicking send button you need to click on the “Send later” button which will provide you a no. of options regarding the date and time of the scheduled e-mail. You specify no. of days after which your e-mail is to be sent and then click on confirm.

 

Scheduling emails in Gmails using Boomerang

Step 8:

You can even send a specific message back to your inbox on a specific date as a reminder like paying your bill by clicking on the “Boomerang” icon below the google search bar along with “More” button.

Step 9:

By clicking on the “Manage scheduled messages” option in the Boomerang menu on the top right of Gmail screen you can see the list of all scheduled messages and reschedule or cancel them if you change your mind. You can also set your preferences for Boomerang.

Along with this Boomerang also provides the services like:

  • Recurring message – You can schedule an e-mail to be sent again and again daily, weekly or after a fixed period of time. You can do this by clicking on the schedule recurring message in the send later dialog box.
  • Read receipts – You can receive a notification about when your e-mail is opened or the links in the e-mail are clicked.
  • Boomerang mobile – You can schedule messages on the go on your smartphone or tablet.
  • Response Tracking– You can track the responses for your e-mails sent and can even get reminders if you don’t receive a reply.
