Reading Time: 4 minutes

Wanna get paid to Surf the internet? Whether it is from your desktop or mobile device, the highlights of this article the options to get paid for surfing the web.

These web browsers each offer a unique approach to rewarding their users and the parties involved in powering the web. A majority are blockchain-based and place great value on the user’s privacy.

So not only will these web browsers offer a solid way to get paid to surf the web but also importantly Address Privacy, Payment and Advertising concerns.

I recently came across an entrant on this list which highlighted the existence of other paid to surf web browsers and modelled browsers (I already knew Brave).

So here we go listing entries from the least to the most rewarding based on the method:

Brave Browser – Secure, Fast & Private Web Browser with Adblocker

Brave is a free and open-source web browser developed by Brave Software, Inc. based on the Chromium web browser.

Apart from offering rewards, the browser also blocks ads and website trackers which in turn speeds up loading times and saves device bandwidth/memory.

Braves Paid to surf model is contingent on Basic Attention Tokens or BAT Tokens, A Ethereum based cryptocurrency token.

Users of the Web Browser use BAT Tokens to support and reward creators. Users also earn tokens when the watch various videos, ads or fund their BAT wallets. The business models support web surfers who gain 70% of revenues and Creators/Brave who split 30% revenue form ads.

My Experience: Having used this browser for some time, being rewarded is contingent on how you use the browser. So far I haven’t been able to gain any tokens from this browser. I chalk this up to the fact that Braves Reward model being new and me not interfacing with the websites that actually reward you for viewing ads. There is also the fact that the browser lacks advertisers, users and rewards.

Why Recommend: If you like privacy, super fasts speeds, hate annoying ads and need a great way to support creators, Brave is a perfect solution.

Brave is available on Windows, macOS and Linux operating systems for the desktop. The web browsers are also available for mobile devices via Amazon App Store, Google Play and the App Store.

BitTube – The browser that respects your time and rewards your attention.

The BitTube web browser is yet another Paid to Surf web browser based on the chromium web browser. BitTube has its own Tube cryptocurrency which is the basis for its rewards-based experience.

The browser rewards and publishers with Airtime Tokens, Blocks Ads and Tracking, Creator donations and of course, user Privacy.

The BitTube web browser highlights this privacy focus more so than sporting DuckDuckGo as its default web browser.

Users earn rewards from this web browser using the BitTube Wallet app Chrome extension which is integrated into the web browser and feels seamless.

My Experience: I have used the BitTube Chrome extension with another browser on this list before installing its browser but have’nt experience any rewards yet. I also took the initiative to add support to this website. The app lacks users and thus i would’nt recommend it.

Why recommend: If you want a way to gain and support creators, this browsers is just perfect along with its Speed. The wallet is also very interopable/interchangeble accross platforms.

The BitTube Desktop wallet is also available as a Windows, Mac and Linux app while the BitTube mobile wallets are available on the App Store and Google Play.
