How to fix UEFI windows 10 and Linux multi-boot errors? complete windows 10 and Linux multiboot guide.

Multiboot is the best way to use multiple operating systems on single PC if you want optimum performance and want access to every hardware of your system. If you want to just try out a different OS I recommend you to use a virtual machine. If you want to learn to hack and want to install Linux Kali or Redhat or any other Linux distribution then this article is for you.

                             What is Multiboot?
A computer is useless without having an operating system, You need to install at least one operating system to use Computer. 90% PC users use Windows-based computers. Every operating system has its own bootloader to boot itself whenever you start a computer. installing multiple OSes with multiple boot loaders is Multiboot. I recommend you to install a maximum of 3 Operating systems on single PC.

How to install Linux with Windows? UEFI / EFI based system

  1. Create unallocated space: Create Unallocated space using your current OS (we assume you have already installed windows and trying to install Linux Kali). To create unallocated space press 'Windows button + X' then select 'Disk_management' now select the disk partition which has at least 50GB of free space. Right click on it and select Shrink Volume. and enter the size of the disk you want in MB.
  2. Create EFI bootable media: You need EFI bootable ISO to create EFI bootable media. (Click here to create EFI bootable media). If your ISO doesn't have EFI boot files you need to download and insert them into iso file manually. (ask google for it).
  3. Disk partition:(Follow this if you want to install Kali as a secondary system ask google for other Linux distribution ) Boot from your bootable media and follow on screen instructions until disk partition page. Select Manual option. select the Free Space partition from the list of disks. Select Continue and then
select Automatically partition the free space option.
Now select all files in one partition option.
Select Finish partitioning and write changes to disk at the bottom of the page and begin the installation.

How to fix post installation errors?

  1. If the system is booting directly into windows rather than asking you to select Operating System: This error is due to your default boot loader which is preinstalled in your system, you need to change the priority of Bootloaders in BIOS. To change bootloader in BIOS select boot tab and select bootloader and use f5 and f6 to change the order of available bootloaders.
  2. If you don't see Linux bootloader in bios/ windows bootloader is removing Linux boot loader automatically: This is happening due to your system manufacturer doesn't allow you to install multiple Operating systems on the single device. You need to boot into Linux bootloader manually to boot into Linux boot loader.

remove all external drives and open change boot order menu press f9 (Your system may have a different function key to change boot order) and select boot from EFI file
    Select No volume label disk
    Select EFI
select The name of distribution you just installed
Select one of the available .efi file.
