24 Must Have WordPress Plugins for Bloggers

1. Duplicate Post

The first one is ‘Duplicate Post’. It is not essential for bloggers but it is definitely recommended for professional websites or for those who usually need to create a copy of their existing post or page. Normally we manage to design some page with much more difficulty but at the same time, to design the other page, we need the same layout. To do so, ‘Duplicate Post’ plugin helps us. In this way, we can simply duplicate any post or page. We can get that same layout without working hard. It works like a magic with just one single click. 2. UpdraftPlus WordPress Backup Plugin

The second one is the UpdraftPlus. It is a backup plugin. Once configured properly, it automatically creates a backup at your specified schedule. After that, it automatically sends your backups to your specified location such as Dropbox, Google Drive & More. As per my experience, this is the best backup plugin I recommend and it’s free too. And you can first start your journey with the free plugin and if that goes nicely then you can shift to the premium plugin later on.

3. Blog2Social: Social Media Auto Post & Scheduler

This plugin is highly recommended for those who want to share each and every post on social media but they do not want to spend or waste their precious time in doing so. Once configured properly, just 1 click is needed to share a single post on all the social media pages. All this functionality is completely free and moreover, their support system is also very strong & friendly. Whenever I face any problem in Blog2Social, I simply contact them via email and they reply within just 24 hours and help me to solve the problem. In this way, I can say, I have a very good experience with them. And if you talk about their premium plan, that is just more than awesome. If you buy the premium plan, you will get many good features such as your post will be auto-scheduled to share on social media or you can also set that whenever you publish the post, it should get shared automatically and instantly. So we can say this plugin works the same way as your hired social media manager can do.

4. Minimal Coming Soon & Maintenance Mode

This is a must-have plugin for all the bloggers. Whenever we need to do some construction on our website, we must have a one-click option to activate or deactivate the maintenance mode. Unlike other plugins, it doesn’t have any complex settings so I prefer using it. One it is configured properly, you’ll see a ‘Maintenance Mode’ option in the top bar of WordPress. There, you’ll see an ON and OFF option which makes your work more convenient. In this way, you do not even need to go to the Settings inside WordPress. All your work gets easier because the ON-OFF option is available straight on the top bar of the WordPress.

5. P3 (Plugin Performance Profiler)

This plugin is not necessary but recommended. So you’ll be thinking about what this plugin does. So basically, it checks which plugins are slowing down your website. After running the test, when you get to know about the result, then you can simply think over that which plugin you should keep or remove. It is not necessary to remove a plugin which is very important for your site. But in any case, if you find a plugin which is slowing down your site plus it’s not that important for you, then you can easily remove that. So this is the plugin to check the evil plugins.

6. Add Featured Image Column

Everyone knows that each post has its own featured image.
In WordPress, go to Posts. Check whether thumbnails (featured images) of the posts are there or not. If you are able to see the thumbnails, then very good, you do not need this plugin. But if you are not seeing any thumbnail there, then to make your work easier, you can go with this plugin called ‘Add Featured Image Column.’ It is optional as per your requirement. I thought to add it too for your comfort.

7. Auto Image Attributes From Filename With Bulk Updater

I highly recommend using this plugin because it’s very good for SEO purpose. You will see that a lot of traffic comes from Google Images. So any image you upload in your site must reach to the Google Images. For that, you need to fill all the image fields such as image title, name, alt, title, caption, description. It automatically adds Image Title, Image Caption, Description And Alt Text From Image Filename. Since this plugin includes a bulk updater this can update both existing images in the Media Library and new images.

8. Captcha, Anti Spam, Security, Spam Protection – Captcha Booster

To get rid of those spam comments, you really need a Captcha plugin. While submitting a comment, every user will have to fill in the captcha such as math sum, subtraction, division or multiplication. It all depends on your setting what you want. So again I’ll say, before using any plugin, it is a must thing that you check and play with its settings first to get the proper results. This plugin helps us to fight against spam. So I would say this is a highly recommended plugin out of the 24 Must Have WordPress Plugins for Bloggers.

9. Yoast SEO Premium

A blogger is incomplete without Yoast SEO plugin. This plugin helps us to rank in google. The competition is very high among bloggers but still, it’s better to show somewhere in google rather than nowhere. This is what I think. After installing this plugin, each post starts showing a Yoast area in itself. You will simply have to fill in few fields like Focus Keyword, Meta Keywords, Meta Description and you’ll have to turn those red dots to green.

My personal advice is that this red-green dot should never become a tension for you. If time is less and you are not able to turn some red dots to green then it’s okay. Don’t feel bad. Sometimes we get so much depressed that we even stop blogging just because of that red-green dot problem. It’s better to write something than to write just nothing. 10. Contact Form 7

I first thought not to include this plugin. But I did. You’ll be thinking why I thought not to include it in my list. It is because everyone already has this plugin or many people already know about this so I thought you also know about it. But for new bloggers, I thought to include it in my list. It is important to have a contact form on your blog. Whenever any advertiser or your reader needs to contact you, he/she can simply fill in the form and send you a message. It is as simple as that. So make sure you have a contact page on your blog.

11. Do Follow

The blogging competition is so high that your blog gets pressed under many popular blogs. But to fight with this issue, you should install this plugin. Let me explain to you how. Many bloggers comment below other bloggers’ posts. They do so just to get backlink or traffic. Mainly, when anyone comments, then they leave their website or blog link in their name. In this way, they always look for the referral traffic. I know if people are coming on your blog just for commenting and not for reading then it will break your heart.

But there are chances that a person who has come to your blog just for commenting, has eventually turned into your regular reader because of your awesome posts. In this way, you can attract and turn your so-called commenters into your regular readers. To get high rank in google, it is important to create high-quality backlinks.

So what is a backlink? When anyone comments and add their blog/website link then that is called a backlink. But wait, to get high rank in google, it is important that you have only do-follow backlinks and not no-follow backlinks. On 99% blogs, if you will comment, then you will get a no-follow link that will not help you to rank high in google.

Currently, these days, I am using this plugin. So anyone who comments down will get a do-follow backlink for free. People all over the world are looking for these type of blogs who provide do-follow backlinks. So if you are the one providing do-follow backlinks for free then you will get traffic. I know this traffic will not be fair to you because they would have come for only commenting and not for reading. But even for commenting, they will have a look at the post. If your post is written well, then it is possible that your so-called commenter will be converted into your loyal reader in just no time. For me, this plugin is recommended but not a must-have

12. Google XML Sitemaps

So far, you have read 11 plugins out of 24 Must Have WordPress Plugins for Bloggers!! Now, this plugin is the 12th one. This plugin is using in building a sitemap of the blog/website. Basically, this option is available in Yoast SEO as well. As I am currently using this plugin, so what I do is I use both the plugins. I have disabled the ‘XML Sitemap’ option in Yoast SEO. So I am using the sitemap functionality of ‘Google XML Sitemaps’ only. I personally think that its settings are the best and it helps me to rank my posts earlier than Yoast. So I thought to share my experience with you. This is my own experience. I would love to listen to your experience in the comment box below. Let me know what do you think.

Sometimes it feels very boring adding tags in the post. This is a very manual process but for lazy bloggers, there is a plugin called SF Generate Tags. Mainly, it is highly recommended to add tags manually. But there are some bloggers who hate this step. So they may give it a try. This plugin helps in increasing your ad revenue. When a reader comes to your blog to read something and he/she is using an Adblock to block all the ads, then this plugin warns or simply asks them to whitelist your blog or remove the plugin. In this way, you can get the revenue which you are missing just because of the Adblock readers. The name of this plugin is WP Adblock Dedect and not the Detect.
