A wireless mouse have been a trend now for quite some time. It’s no secret that people want freedom from wires that feels restrictive when you’re using the mouse. However, the downside of wireless mice is batteries. Whether it’s replaceable AAA batteries or a built-in rechargeable battery, some people hate the notion of having to maintain the power of the wireless mouse.
How Does It Work ?
The magic of this product relies on electromagnetic induction technology. The Razer Mamba Hyperflux needs to be paired with a special mouse pad that’s called the Razer Firefly.
The Razer Firefly Hyperflux mousepad needs to be plugged into a USB socket on your desktop. Power then starts passing through the mouse pad and emits a magnetic field that transfers power to the mouse continuously. The Razer Mamba Hyperflux, on the other hand, is equipped with a supercapacitor, an electrical component that stores and transfers electricity. This can hold a charge for over 5 to 10 seconds so that when you lift the mouse, it won’t instantly die.
Razer has also eliminated the need for a Bluetooth transmitter to connect your mouse to the desktop. This is already built-in to the Firefly mousepad and will automatically detect your mouse upon contact.
Having said all that, the downside of this product is that, it will not work without the Firefly. Unless you plug it directly to the desktop via USB cable included in the box.

This is also one of the lightest wireless mice in the world, simply because of the absence of an actual battery. The mouse weighs just a little less than 100 grams and the battery alone would have weighed a minimum 25 grams.
Aside from the electromagnetic feature that it has, the Razer Mamba Hyperflux could be the best gaming wireless mouse in the market. Sporting a 16,000 DPI 5G optical sensor that makes it extremely accurate, it also has the ability to track 1 DPI increments and a lift-off cut-off distance as precise as 0.1mm. The experience has virtually no lag or delay which is going to make it perform like a wired mouse.
The smoothness of the mouse can also be a result of the personalized mouse pad designed specifically for it. The Razer Firefly Hyperflux features a dual hard and cloth surface for more flexibility and user preference. You can easily switch between the two just by lifting the surface of the mousepad and turning it over. The hard surface is mostly for speed and quick mouse swipes, while the cloth is more for control and accuracy.
Lastly, the device has an adjustable click force technology. Whether you prefer a lighter click or a fuller distinctive click, you can now adjust them to your exact preferences. Both devices are surrounded by RGB lights which is Razers signature on every product they have. They are fully customizable using the software provided in the product. you can switch brightness, light patterns, and colors depending on your mood.
Razer Mamba Hyperflux Review: Verdict
This product deserves a rating of 8 out of 10. The Razer Mamba Hyperflux is the only wireless mouse that will give you an experience like a wired mouse. The continuous supply of power together with its 16,000 DPI 5G sensor, this is in my opinion the best gaming wireless mouse in the market. Super lightweight and pin-point accuracy will be everything you’ve hoped for in a gaming mouse.
There are two problems about this product and one of them is its exclusivity on the mouse pad. It’s on the expensive side of the spectrum. And for its price, some people would be hesitant to purchase this because you can’t use it wirelessly outside your house unless you bring the mouse pad with you.
Lastly, it is very important to mention that there are certain restrictions about the Razer Firefly Hyperflux. Due to the electromagnetic technology, Razer themselves prohibits users from placing a mobile phone on top of the mousepad. Furthermore, you also cannot place this product on top of a metal desk or any other metal.
