The study, conducted by Recorded Future, includes the analysis of 150 leading forums, shopping sites and other similar sites, darknet, and aimed to find out how became popular altcoins on the darknet, after the bitcoin network has increased transaction fees.

The growing popularity of Monero (XMR)
The study also indicates a significant growth of popularity of XMR in the English-speaking platforms. The Eastern European Sites popularity Monero is much lower.
On the English platforms Monero was the second most popular means of payment, while XMR is running at about 15% English-speaking platforms. LTC is at the 3rd place among English-language sites with 11%, followed by DASH and ETH: 9% each of cryptocurrencies.
The Eastern European sites Litecoin was the second cryptocurrency, and 35% of the sites accept payments in LTC. DASH is on the 3rd place with 24%, followed by BCH with 15%, ETH – 9%, ZEC 4% or XMR – 3%.
