How the Google Repair Center works
To start the repair, we have to enter the IMEI of our phone on the page; from there we will be presented with several options: audio problems, problems with battery life, problems with the flashlight, software problems, etc. If the device is still under warranty and has some kind of problem that was not caused by accidental damage, the Repair Center will indicate that the repair will be free. But if the problem is not covered by the warranty (a broken screen or damage caused by water in 95% of cases), Google will give us an estimate of the repair. For example, for a Pixel 2 XL, a broken screen costs $ 239, while the damage caused by water (although the Pixel 2 XL is IP67) is priced at $ 413. To both figures must be added taxes, although, yes, Google is responsible for shipping costs; The repair will take between 7 and 10 business days after we have sent the phone. At the moment, as we said, the repair center service is only available in the United States and for Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL models.
