Living Abroad, Here’s How My Family And I Celebrate The Jazba Of Independence Day

I think Living Abroad and being a bit more patriotic than a resident is something natural. You miss every opportunity and every party. Every special moment is a bit different when it is celebrated in your own people who speak the same language and share the same values. However, while living abroad, the biggest challenge is to find the similar community that share the same traditions.

August 14 is always a special day been in the life of every Pakistani.

When I lived in a small town, there was no large Pakistani community in the neighborhood. As a result, such important days would pass as any other. The most I would do was wear a traditional green and white dress and place a badge. Or I sat for the T.V. to listen to patriotic songs. Maybe I would cook something special.

Toch since then moved, we found a larger Pakistani community to learn.

It will be our third consecutive year that the Jashan-e-Azadi function attends, which aims to introduce our children to Pakistan. The show consists of quizzes, tableau performances, speeches, regional dress show, national songs and cake cutting ceremony at the end.

Because there is no official holiday abroad, this function is held the full weekend after August 14.

This time it is planned for the 19 e . Our friends plan it and are also very enthusiastic about this year's job. Last year I also volunteered for the committee management of the event. We have all done our best to make the event successful and even better than last year.

In addition, other occasions are organized by other Pakistani overseas societies that are related to Independence Day.

Basant Mela and Meena Bazar. All these events are planned for August and the theme of Independence Day is also kept in mind for every function. Every year I ask the nano and dado children to buy a few flags, badges, some souvenirs and national dresses for children and for me.

I really want to convey that national spirit and enthusiasm children, so that this date and our beloved country become just as important to them

This is my story, all the way from Sweden. If you spend Independence Day abroad, I would like to know how you celebrate it. And when you are back home in Pakistan, know that you are really lucky.
