The San Francisco-based company made the announcement to let the Twitter for Mac app get stranded in a tweet from the demise of TwitterSupport, saying it was streamlining its resources. It added that the Twitter for Mac app will no longer be supported in 30 days. With its established trend toward the web interface on PC platforms, Twitter could soon also kill its TweetDeck for Mac app.
Of course many users have used the microblogging platform to express their indignation or bewilderment at the decision, but for others it was not surprising, with the company that over the years intermittently supported the Twitter for Mac app.
"We're doing a great job in creating a great Twitter experience that's consistent across platforms, so starting today, the Twitter for Mac app is no longer available for download and will no longer be supported in 30 days, "reads the TwitterSupport tweet. "For the full Twitter experience on Mac, visit Twitter on the web," adds the handle.
