How to prevent laptop from overheating | WindroidInsider

With the introduction of nanotechnology in micro-chip industry, circuits have revolutionized since then. More number of transistors were fabricated onto the Integrated Circuits to maximize their functionality. Such advancements gave manufactures a sleight of hand in designing more complex motherboards for Laptops and smartphones.

More complexity truly enhanced the processing speeds but showing up other disadvantages. More devices meant more heating up and their combined Heat causing an up-rise in system's heat. Moreover if we go back to older versions of laptops running a different kind of operating systems rather than the supported ones also cause temperatures to go high. Also running heavy programs on low specs laptop also readily heating up the system.

The leading factor in this cause is simply "Deficient Ventilation". All problems sum up to this cause with poor ventilation or inadequate cooling of the system, Even if the system gets heated up, proficient cooling can help cool it down and come to normal functionality. So we will also go through the ways to prevent blockage in cooling and ventilation to prevent computer from overheating.

In this article we will look towards the precautionary measures to prevent the system from overheating. As we know that overheating can cause automatic shutdown of laptops or either affecting its speed. So here are the ways to Prevent Laptop from overheating.

Know Your System

First thing a user must be aware of is the specifications of the system. Before running any sort of heavy load program on the system, one must check its compatibility and requirements. Always run the supported version of OS on your laptop. Take time to consult your laptop manufacturer to check compatibility of OS with your system. Any overpowered program can also burden up the system's resources thus rising its temperature.

Update BIOS of your system

Running of System on older version of BIOS can also lead to overheating of laptop. This fix has been suggested over and over again by the Laptop manufactures to their users. Basically updating BIOS leads to revamping of the entire system. This aids a lot in improving the overall system performance thus diminishing the factors leading to overheating. So it is serious recommendation to regularly check for newer versions of BIOS for your system.

Always know your system temperature

It is recommended to install a monitoring program to keep an eye on the CPU temperature. Go over the internet and find a suitable program to monitor CPU's heat track. So whenever the temperature rises you can get dome time to cool it down.

Clean up the system

With the passage of time dust forms over the internal vents and exhausts. These layers of dust block the passage of air through the vents. Thus causing more heat to be trapped inside the body and remain in the hardware. Blowing compressed air through the grills and vents of laptops can be helpful in reducing these dust layers. Guided thorough cleaning can make laptop more efficient in terms of ventilation.

Never overclock the CPU

Most Windows users are told to overclock the CPU to maximize its output. Although this works accordingly but also has some side issues to be aware of. Most importantly this results in overheating of laptop. Keep the clocking speed at a normal level as lowering it below a specific level may result in lagged performance of CPU. So de-clocking an over-clocked CPU can also aid to prevent laptop from overheating.

Elevate the laptop

Elevating the laptop by a support helps a lot in the ventilation. Most laptops have air vents on the side and beneath the body of laptop which makes air flow difficult. Buying a compatible elevator aids in ideal air flow and proper ventilation of hot air from the laptop.

Use heat sinks

Using external heat sinks with the laptop can also prevent laptop from overheating. Advantage is that using external heat sinks provides a considerable time for itself to heat up. So primarily excess heat from laptop flow into the external heat sink reducing the core temperature of laptop.

Cool down the laptop

Excess release of heat from the laptop vents can be tackled by using external cooling fans and cooling pads with the laptop. Bringing up a specific cooling pad can significantly reduce the heating factors and cool down the laptop.

Wrap up

So here is our summary of ways to prevent laptop from overheating. If you find any of them useful, let us know in the comments below. For any addition of method or procedure also share with us in the comments section. Thanks!
