Help Young Women and Girls Interested in Technology Achieve Their Dreams by Sponsoring One

We’re helping girls and Young Women get a head start in the world of technology because we don’t feel there’s enough encouragement to go around for bright young female minds interested in technology as a career. It’s been a rather one-sided game, with by far more men entering tech-focused career paths, but we believe the right kind of encouragement can help young women and girls interested in technology careers achieve their dreams.

The technology field (IT alone) is a $3 trillion field and growing (expected to top $3.7 trillion USD in 2018) – and, because it touches all of our lives, it needs fresh minds and perspectives to bring out its best attributes and potential.

Don’t you agree?

Yes, the technology industry is booming, and more and more young women and girls interested in technology are taking note and choosing it as either a career outright or at least as a serious hobby or field of study.

Intivix celebrates the fact that girls and young Women are eager to be a part of this amazing and innovative industry.

Is it any wonder more females are becoming interested in technology, when every home or individual has a PC, smartphone, and/or laptop, and many children are having iPads and tablets put into their hands even before kindergarten?

More tech-savvy women will be good for the family unit, tech health, and cyber safety, among other things.

Help Women and Girls in Tech Learn the Skills They Need to Succeed

October 11th was the Day of the Girl, and Intivix is marking the occasion by sponsoring 5 girls to take part in an upcoming Girls in Tech bootcamp. Each bootcamp teaches a new skill to these young women and girls, including:

  • Entrepreneurship
  • Coding
  • Leadership
  • Design
  • Confidence Building
  • Product Development

The skills these bootcamps provide young women and girls interested in technology are the building blocks of a successful career in tech fields, and without our help, many of the girls hoping to take advantage of what Girls in Tech have to offer won’t get that chance.

We’re challenging you to step in and help women and girls around the world make their tech dreams come true. Check out the Girls in Tech website to learn more about the programs they offer and make a donation of your own. You can sponsor a girl directly, or create a fundraiser to help sponsor even more girls!

About the Day of the Girl

In 2011, as the result of youth advocacy around the world, the United Nations declared October 11 as the International Day of the Girl Child. Its mission is “to help galvanize worldwide enthusiasm for goals to better girls’ lives, providing an opportunity for them to show leadership and reach their full potential.” It’s a day when activist groups come together under the same goal to highlight, discuss, and take action to advance rights and opportunities for girls everywhere.

Day of the Girl-US is the United States branch of this global movement. We are a 100% youth-led movement fighting for gender justice and youth rights. Our work to dismantle the patriarchy and fight for social justice is rooted in girl-led activism across the country, using October 11th as a day of national action.

October 11 is not just a day; it’s a movement – A worldwide revolution.

But, October 11th is simply a day to focus awareness on this subject. The rest of the year is there to put these goals and beliefs into practice.

We want ourselves, and girls everywhere, to be seen as equals, in the eyes of others and in our own eyes.

Women and Girls in Technology Will Allow IT to Flower

The world of technology thrives on fresh ideas, creative minds, and strong leaders. It has had that, yes – but, with a largely male-dominated viewpoint. It’s not that women are being kept from the technology field – rather the opposite; many colleges and universities encourage equality and balanced enrollment in tech fields of study.

It’s that young women have not felt welcome (for whatever reasons) in this male-dominated world. This is probably due to there not being enough women in high positions of management and leadership in information and communications technology.

Intivix believes that with the right sponsorship and encouragement, more girls and young women will choose technology as a career path. (Click on the previous link to learn more.)

We also believe that having more women in the field of technology will bring a healthy balance to a ubiquitous phenomenon that touches all of our lives in some way. Fresh minds and ideas will allow this field to fully flower, don’t you think?

Here’s your chance to make sure the next generation of tech geniuses are the most brilliant we’ve seen yet – by sponsoring a girl or young woman and helping her achieve her technology dreams.

We Believe in a Healthy Balance in Technology

We believe you truly can make a difference in the lives of young women and girls interested in technology by making a small gesture of hope and encouragement in their lives.

If you have further questions about our program to sponsor a girl or young woman interested in technology, contact us at [email protected] or (415) 543-1033 for more information.
