Apple has announced three phones, iPhone Xs max, iPhone Xs and iPhone XR. The price, features and specifications are in descending order as listed respectively. Talking about the naming, it seems apple couldn’t do away with “X”. Making a phone that looks like iPhone X doesn’t mean you should stick with “X” in the naming. This could cause conflicts for consumers when unprecedented names are given to future phones. Its noteworthy to say that, the upcoming addition to the iPhone family deserves an accolade.

According to Apple,

“iPhone Xs is packed with next-generation technologies and is a huge step forward for the future of the smartphone. Everything is state of the art including the industry-first 7-nanometer A12 Bionic chip with 8-core Neural Engine, faster Face ID and an advanced dual camera system that shoots Portrait mode photos with Smart HDR and dynamic depth of field,” “iPhone Xs is not one, but two new iPhone models, and iPhone Xs Max offers the biggest display ever in an iPhone with the biggest battery ever in an iPhone, delivering up to an hour and a half more battery life in your day.” Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

7-nM A12 Bionic Chip

The latest batch of iPhone device come out of the box with 7-nanometer A12 Bionic chipset. For the record, iPhone X comes with A11 Bionic chipset. Apple’s new Bionic chipset is designed to be power efficient and deliver faster processing. Apple says the chipset is the smartphone’s first 7-nanometer chip housing 6.9 billion transistors.

Inside the A12 Bionic is a six-core fusion architecture CPU, with two performance cores. The two performance cores are said to be 15 percent faster and 40 percent more power efficient than their counterparts in the A11 Bionic. The other four cores which are power efficiency cores, consume 50 percent less power when compared with Apple’s previous chip.

Predecessing chipsets such as A11 has two-core Neural Engine that handles 600 billion AI operations in a second, but the new A12 comes with a eight-cores that can take on 5 trillion operations per second.

Neural Engine core is a part of A12 and A11 chip developed by Apple to specially handle Artificial Intelligence processing task. With circuits designed to power AI software called neural networks that are faster in carrying out task for Speech processing, Augmented Reality and Imaging.

iPhone Xs Max and iPhone Xs

Apple showed off some sense of craftsmanship with the body design of iphone Xs and iphone Xs Max – a golden stainless steel body finish. iPhone Xs Max and iPhone Xs comes with features slightly topping that of iPhone X. Talk of screen size, iPhone Xs Max comes with a huge 6.5 inches display size while the iPhone X and iPhone Xs has 5.8 inches display size. The 12Mp rear dual-camera resolution is the same with old Iphone X, but iPhone Xs and Xs max harnesses the power of the A12 chip to advance portrait mode photography. Don’t judge apple for keeping the 7Mp camera the same too, they added a little bit of juice. Faster Face-ID technology scrapped Touch-ID for good. You can keep this iPhone newbies in a water of 2 meters for about 30 minutes.

The new batch of iPhones will come running iOS 12, Apple’s close source operating system. iPhone XS Max and iPhone XS have varying storage capacity of 64GB, 256GB and 512GB, both have 4GB of RAM.

iPhone XR

With almost the same features with its launch-mates, Iphone XR is the cheapest of them all. The all glass screen iPhone XR has single camera setup which still harnesses A12 chip. The screen resolution is a sequel to iPhone 8, but screen size differs by hairs breath. Available storage sizes are 64GB, 128GB and 256GB, all coupled by 3GB of RAM. Shockingly, this phones comes with an LCD display screen. Maybe to give user something to fantasize about, Apple gave off several color variants, Blue, Yellow, Coral, Black and Red.

Pricing

iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max will be available in 64GB, 256GB and 512GB storage capacity variants, starting at $999 (US) and $1,099 respectively. Pre-orders will begin on 14th of this month and availability will be on 21st September starting with the following countries.
