Last year at Google I/O 2017, Google launched its AI enable image analyzer called the Google Lens. The smart feature is currently available only for the Pixel smartphones via the Google Assistant and Google Photos App. Google in its ARcore announcement via its blog also revealed that Google Lens would be rolling out to more smartphones.

The Google Lens would be made available via the Google Photos app on both iOS and Android. In starting it will be available for only the English-language users on the smartphones. Users will be able to scan photos for objects, landmarks on both the Android and iOS. Google Lens on Google Assistant will also start rolling out soon in the coming weeks.

In the beginning, the Google lens will available only on compatible flagship devices and will support more devices as the time goes on. Other than adding more device, Google has also improved the overall lens experience and features. According to Google, the Google Lens will soon be able to recognize plants and animals.

It can even recognize specific dog breeds and flowers. Google says it is still in preview but they have continued making improvements. Google brings Lens to other devices is surely a welcome gesture but it removes another unique feature from the Pixel smartphone. We will write our review, once we get our hands on it.
