Denon + Marantz Owner Brings Definitive Technology To UK & Europe

Definitive Technology is officially coming to the UK and Europe. That means it’s set to join other Sound United products that are already on shelves in the region, including Denon, Marantz, Classe Audio, and Polk Audio.

For those in North America, Definitive Technology will be a familiar name. It’s a high-end Speaker manufacturer offering products to suit a variety of needs, at a range of price points. That means its entry-level offering will set consumers back around £499, while its more expensive models carry a price tag of £3399.

UK pricing for Definitive Technology’s product line-up has already been announced, although it hasn’t been revealed whether or not the company has picked up a distributor for the custom install industry. Sound United’s other brands have already gained popularity within the market, so it can be assumed Definitive Technology will also be made available to custom installers.

Home Theatre Systems

The BP9000 Series is Definitive Technology’s latest bipolar, high-performance full range speakers, and will be offered in the UK. It comprises of the BP9020, BP9040, BP9060, and BP9080 floorstanding speakers. These are priced at £1299, £1699, £2199, and £3399, respectively, and boast built-in active subwoofers.

Rounding out the range users can get three centre speakers that are priced between £499 and £999, and two pairs of surround speakers that cost £499 and £699 per pair. The speakers can even be upgraded with optional A90 Atmos modules, although the BP9020 already comes with a top-mounted Atmos module.

Bookshelf Speakers

Definitive Technology will also be bringing its new Demand Series bookshelf speakers across the pond. This three-strong line-up includes the D7, D9, and D11, priced at £529, £799, and £1049. They all feature a tweeter offset by 5 degrees, which supposedly eliminates symmetrical diffusion from the corners of the baffle and improve stereo imaging.

While these models are bookshelf speakers, they can also be wall-mounted if needs be, or those looking to mount them on stands, then they can be fixed to the optional £319 ST1 stands offered by the company.

Architectural Speakers

Despite offering a line-up of architectural speakers in the US, it doesn’t appear that these models will be coming to the UK or Europe just yet.
