Dell has announced two large touchscreen displays for the education and business markets. The giant display invite obvious comparisons with Microsoft’s Surface Hub devices, but unlike those machines, Dell’s Interactive Touch Monitors require a separate PC to be connected to them.

Dell’s touchscreens will be offered in 55- and 86-inch configurations, same in size to the Surface Hub options (55- and 84-inches). But both Dell models will come with 4K (3840×2160 pixel) resolution, whereas Microsoft’s 55-inch Hub only has a Full HD (1920×1080 pixel) display. Dell previously offered a 70-inch Interactive Touch Monitor with Full HD resolution.

The monitors also feature 20 touch points and stylus support, but does not come out with a built-in PC like the Microsoft Surface Hub does (it does feature a plethora of ports, however). New InGlass touch technology enables for a natural writing experience with two included passive styluses as well as anti-glare and anti-smudge coating on the cover glass for easy viewing. Both monitors is now utilize monitor technology for clear text and images and feature 4K UHD resolution.

In addition to ‘multiple ports for plug and play connectivity’, the displays can be optionally equipped with a Dell Wireless Module, priced at $199.99. You can even integrate a Dell OptiPlex Micro desktop right into the back panel of the monitors without the need for a separate power cord. Both the monitors are backed by Dell’s 3-year Advanced Exchange Service and Limited Hardware Warranty.
