Razer updated its most potent notebook – the Blade Pro — with Intel Kaby Lake

Last year, Razer announced its thinnest desktop replacement notebook yet, the Razer Blade Pro and it is promising to deliver an amazing display. Now Razer announce that this new 17-inch notebook is getting a handful of 2017 upgrades. Most notable thing among them is a move to new 7th-generation Intel Core i7 processors; In this case, it means that you will find an overclocked Core i7-7820HK quad-core processor to replace the previous Skylake-based Core i7-6700HQ. The 32 gigabyte of RAM gets a small speed boost, from 2,133MHz versus 2,667MHz.

THX (and is now a subsidiary of Razer), the company that specializes in perfecting video and audio experiences, has given its official Mobile Certification to the upcoming 17-inch Razer Blade Pro gaming laptop. THX tests production models to make sure actual shipping device matches its specification. That should mean that smoother video playback, cleaner audio, and more accurate color reproduction. The upgraded laptop begins shipping in April for $3,999 starting price, compared to $3,699 for the original. This is Razer’s new megapowered laptop that features a Nvidia GTX 1080 video card. Despite that power, however, Razer has still designed the Blade Pro so that it’s less than 1-inch thick. This Blade Pro is the first gaming laptop to gain THX Mobile Certification for the both audio system and the display.

When it comes to graphics subsystem, things have not changed, meaning you will find a potent NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 powering a 17.3-inch 4K IGZO display equipped with G-SYNC tech. This display is geared towards mobile professionals and gamers alike with 100 % Adobe RGB color accuracy. Other features include a built-in 99 WHr lithium-ion polymer battery as well as a compact 250W power adapter, and an anti-ghosting mechanical keyboard with RGB lighting. And yes, the touchpad is off to the side of the laptop, which is one of the most unusual things about this new gaming laptop.

This 2017 upgraded version of the new Blade Pro will be available in April this year, starting at £3,799 in the UK and $3,999 in the US. Australia is not on the initial launch list, but the UK price works out to roughly AU$6,250.
