Going down 3-2 against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, Arsenal have now lost twice this season in as many matches.
The London derby, however, could have gone a different direction had it not been for a host of squandered opportunities by Arsenal.
One of the first of these came in the nineteenth minute of the match, 52 seconds before Chelsea went up 2-0: young Frenchman Guendouzi’s pass sliced through the Chelsea defence to Hector Bellerin up right, which the Spaniard pulled back for Aubameyang and the Gabon international sent it flying far too high.
The disappointment was palpable, on and off the pitch, with Guendouzi’s reaction as he slammed hard on ground repeatedly in anger summing up how every Arsenal fan must have been feeling. The rest of the first half followed suit with more misses from Mkhitaryan, Iwobi and Aubameyang himself.
