(Video) Pontus Jansson fist-pumping after pulling off a manic block from his head during Leeds 2-0 Sunderland

A series of impressive performances saw Pontus Jansson become a massive figure amongst the Leeds fans last season.

He likes to dish out those hard tackles, he is not afraid to dribble and he’s put his body on the line when needed. In a nutshell, the 26-year-old is just a different breed, very different from the orthodox defenders, but still the perfect fit for Leeds.

The 6’5″ defender showed why the fans hail him so highly after he blocked a venomous shot deliberately using his head during Leeds’ 2-0 away victory against Sunderland on Saturday.

Sunderland’s Aiden McGeady dribbled in the penalty box and cut inside, creating space to launch a shot, but when he pulled the trigger, the ball could only go as far as Pontus Jansson.

There was no sign of pain visible in the ex-Torino man’s body language, in fact Jansson was spotted roaring back after the block.
