Today's Gossip: Reds Eye £43m Lisbon Star; Costa Wants Out

Madrid To Walk Away From De Gea Pursuit
Real Madrid will not sign David De Gea this summer, reports Marca, with reporters close to the Bernabeu insisting that Keylor Navas will be backed.
The piece details how Manchester United were insisting on a €75 million fee for the Spain No. 1 after rejecting a lower offer from Los Blancos earlier this year.

Gianluigi Donnarumma has reportedly been offered to the Champions League winners, with the AC Milan goalkeeper's contract having only one year remaining.

That could mean a free transfer to Madrid in a year or a return to Old Trafford for De Gea, but Navas appears to be Zinedine Zidane's No. 1 for the time being.

Liverpool Eye Salah Alternative
Liverpool are in talks with Sporting Lisbon regarding a deal for winger Gelson Martins as the club continue their quest to bring in a pacy attacker, according to Press Association Sport.
Liverpool have been in negotiations with Roma about Mohamed Salah but fear being priced out of a move for the Egypt international, and PA Sport reports that Martins -- linked with Real Madrid and Barcelona last season -- is seen as a potential option.

It has been claimed in Portugal that Martins has a buyout clause of €60 million (£52m) but that Sporting's failure to qualify for the Champions League means they would take €50m (£43.5m).

The 22-year-old made 44 appearances last season, scoring seven goals and providing 14 assists, and produced a particularly impressive individual performance against Madrid at the Bernabeu in the Champions League in September.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has said he wanted to add an attacking winger in January, and sources told ESPN FC last week that the club was also monitoring Keita Balde at Lazio and PA Sport reports that Bayern Munich's Douglas Costa is also under consideration.

It is reported that Roma's valuation of Salah is far in excess of Liverpool's, who had a £28m bid rejected last week, and the Serie A club are asking for more than the €40m (£35m) being reported in Italy.

Messi Buyout Clause Up To €400 Million
Lionel Messi is ready to put pen to paper on a new contract with Barcelona, according to AS, and it will include an incredible €400 million buyout clause.
The 29-year-old's current deal was due to expire in 2018 but will now run to 2021, when current president Josep Maria Bartomeu's term ends.

Messi will pick up a huge €30 million per season after tax, which equates to a staggering £500,000 per week, with the news providing Barca a boost after a mediocre season.

Chelsea Dump Costa By Text
Diego Costa has revealed that Chelsea told him by text that he will not be needed next season.

The stunning revelation comes after Spain drew 2-2 with Colombia in Murcia, and Costa has seemingly made his mind up about a summer departure.
"Chelsea contacted me by text to tell me I am not needed," the Blues forward said. "If they don't want me there, I'll have to search for a team."

Costa begrudgingly conceded that a move back to Atletico appears unlikely, with their transfer ban and the need to play in a World Cup year proving problematic.

Chelsea have moved Riyad Mahrez to the top of their summer wish list as they look to add depth behind Eden Hazard, the Telegraph reports.

Hazard underwent an ankle operation this week and will be out for up to three months, which makes the Algerian more of a priority.

Leicester want £50 million for the former PFA Player of the Year, but the Blues and Arsenal will not entertain bidding that much, which will likely force the Foxes to lower their demands.

Juventus left-back Alex Sandro is believed to be another priority, though the Brazilian is valued by the Bianconeri at £45 million, which could prove problematic.

Spurs Want £15m Dortmund Man
Mauricio Pochettino is chasing Borussia Dortmund defender Matthias Ginter, according to an exclusive report on Thursday.

The Independent claims the 23-year-old is a target for Spurs and is available for around £15million as Pochettino looks to rebuild his defence.
Kyle Walker is expected to leave, while the futures of Danny Rose and Toby Alderweireld are also in doubt and Ginter has been targeted.

Matthias Ginter: Not leaving Borussia Dortmund
The player is believed to be open to a move, but will hold talks with new Dortmund boss Peter Bosz.

Hoffenheim are also keen on the player, who can play in a defensive midfield role.

The report also claims Spurs are also negotiating with Espanyol over a deal for on-loan goalkeeper Pau Lopez.

Lopez has a £5m buyout in his loan deal and Spurs want him as back-up for Hugo Lloris.

Bale Up For Sale
Real Madrid will put Gareth Bale up for sale this summer as they prepare to make room for Kylian Mbappe, according to a report.
Monaco star Mbappe is believed to be Zinedine Zidane’s top target, but Real may have to sell to raise the £100million fee that Monaco are holding out for.

And Don Balon claim Zidane will allow Bale to leave Los Blancos to free up the cash to spend on Mbappe.

The report claims club president Florentino Perez would rather sell Karim Benzema and keep Bale, while Zidane is open to offloading the former Spurs man

Milan Move For Belotti
AC Milan will sign Andrea Belotti, reports Corriere dello Sport, with the Rossoneri identifying "Il Gallo" as "the heir to Zlatan Ibrahimovic."
Milan have already failed with a bid for the Torino Striker, which included Christian Zapata in part of the exchange and a fee of £39 million.

Sporting director Marco Fassone will send a higher offer to the Granata, with Lazio star Keita Balde another option at around €35 million.
