Malian football clubs Djoliba and Onze Createurs have seen their confederations' cup title challenge come to an abrupt end after the clubs were stopped from participating in the competition on Saturday.
The two clubs were stopped as a result of a FIFA indefinite ban on the Malian Football Federation for government interference after the country's sports minister Housseini Amion Gundo disbanded the executive committee of FEMAFOOT.
The interference means the country cannot participate in any international activity of any kind until the committee is reinstated hence the automatic disqualification of the Bamako-based club.
Both clubs would definitely be feeling hard done by after leading the second round fixtures with victories in the first leg.
It means their opponents Al Masry and Rayon Sports of Egypt and Rwanda respectively would move ahead despite suffering losses in the first leg.
