Detroit Lions work out former 2nd round pick, Brandon Spikes

Football is all about getting better from week to week and that is very true for Detroit Lions general manager Bob Quinn, who is always trying to improve the 53-man roster. Each week, there will be reports about the Lions working out players who they think could possibly make their team. Embed from Getty Images According to a report from Michael Silver, the Lions have worked out linebacker Brandon Spikes, though Silver notes that there are no plans to sign him at this time. Former Patriots and Bills ILB Brandon Spikes worked out for the Lions today. As of now there are no plans to sign him. — Michael Silver (@MikeSilver) September 25, 2018 Spikes, who was originally drafted by the New England Patriots in the 2nd round of the 2010 NFL Draft, most recently played in 11 games for the Buffalo Bills in 2016. During his time in New England, Spikes played in 51 games (39 starts) recording 174 tackles. The decision to attempt a field goal was made by Patricia after Stafford’s pass to Golden Tate to the Patriots’ 21 yard line came up just inches short of the first down.
