BREAKING: Detroit Lions sign 3-time Super Bowl champion RB

After a week of interviews with the likes of DeMarco Murray and Frank Gore, the Lions have found their back. 3-time Super Bowl Champ Legarrette Blount is reportedly signing with the Lions on a 1-year deal, worth $4.5M, according to Ian Rapoport.

Fresh off earning his third Super Bowl ring in four years, 6-foot, 250-pound Blount, 31, is one of the league’s most physically imposing north-south runners, averaging 4.4 yards on 173 attempts for the Eagles last season.

In his only season with the Eagles, Blount racked up 766 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 173 carries.

According to Brett Whitefield of PFF… Blount ranked fifth among RBs in @PFF elusive rating with a mark of 72.8 (min 80 carries). He ranked third in yards after contact per carry at a whopping 3.56 yards a pop.

He has 5,881 rushing yards and 51 career touchdowns and has played in 11 postseason games in his eight seasons.

The Lions haven’t had a rusher earn 100 yards in a single game since Reggie Bush in 2013 and had a running game that ranked 32nd in the NFL last season. – here’s hoping Blount is the one to break that curse.

Speaking of curses

2016 – Patriots sign LeGarrette Blount to a one-year deal.

Win Super Bowl.

2017 – Eagles sign LeGarrette Blount to a one-year deal.

Win Super Bowl.

2018 – Lions sign LeGarrette Blount to a one-year deal.
