MLS Week 4

Here is the rest of my advise for the week:

Philadelphia v Montreal
Philadelphia lost last week 2-1 away to Columbus, but came on in the second half and were a little unlucky to get the loss. The previous two matches they took 4 points, so a solid start for them. Completely contrasting is the Impact's first few matches with three losses. However, Marco Di Vaio is back from suspension, and he is certainly a difference maker. Hard to tell how Montreal will respond. Staying away from this one.

Colorado v Sporting Kansas
Colorado beat Portland last week 2-0. But before Ricketts was sent off, Portland were the better team. Still at home, Colorado are unbeaten in their last 10, as it has been a tough place to play. Kansas won last week 1-0 over San Jose and looked good in all areas of the pitch. This a difficult one to pick. Probably a draw though.

Vancouver v Houston
Both teams are off to undefeated starts, with Vancouver having a win and two draws, while Houston won both their matches. Vancouver drew 0-0 away to New England last week (the match was just as exciting as the score indicates) and Houston had the week off. With Will Bruin looking unstoppable and the Dynamo playing strong defensively, I like Houston +0.25 @ 1.975.

Dallas v Portland
FC Dallas look so good this season. They are fast and skillful in front of goal, especially at home with 6 goals from two matches - last week it was a 3-1 drubbing of Chivas. Portland, on the other hand, have yet to win a match. Plus first choice keeper Ricketts will be suspened for the match. Add that to the fact that Dallas have outscored the Timbers 11-2 in their last 4 in Dallas. Take Dallas -0.25 @ 2.05.

Real Salt Lake v Toronto
Another match-up of two undefeated clubs. Salt Lake have a win and two draws while TFC won both their matches. However, Toronto have not dominated in either match and it seems they still have something to prove as Real are fairly big favorites in this match. The Beckerman - Bradley midfield battle should be an good one to watch - not sure why this is not on NBC? Former TFC in form striker Joao Plata is out injured, so it will be all up to Saborio to keep pace with Defoe. I like Toronto to get at least a point, even after travelling accross the continent. Toronto +0.75 @ 1.85.

Seattle v Columbus
Another match that could have been the MLS match of the week. Possibly an MLS Cup Final preview? Seattle had the slip-up against Defoe and Toronto, but have otherwise been top-class to start the season. They will miss Dempsey again with a suspension, but as last week, they should be fine with Obafemi Martins. Columbus have won both their opening matches including a 3-0 win away to DC United. While Higuin did not score last week, he still looked dangerous. This match is one to watch, but leave your money in your wallet.

What's your pick for Seattle v Columbus?
