Matt Hasselbeck, IND

With Andrew Luck out for the Colts’ Week 11 matchup against the Falcons, Matt Hasselbeck will, once again, get the start. In his two other starts this season, the 40-year-old signal caller played nicely, throwing for a combined 495 yards with three touchdowns and no turnovers. In those two games, Hasselbeck averaged 15.5 fantasy points.

Hasselbeck’s matchup against the Falcons isn’t too promising from a fantasy standpoint, as Atlanta has given up the fourth-fewest points to opposing arms. Three single-digit scoring performances by less-than-average quarterbacks, however, are skewing those numbers. The Falcons defense is fresh off a showing in which they allowed two touchdowns to Blaine Gabbert and the 49ers, suggesting Hasselbeck will find success. At the very least, it’s unlikely that he makes mistakes, creating a relatively high floor.

Mark Sanchez, PHI

Playing in nine games last year, Mark Sanchez averaged 268.7 passing yards per game and had six games in which he threw for multiple touchdowns. With Sam Bradford expected to miss the Eagles’ Week 11 matchup against the Buccaneers, Sanchez is in line to take the field.

Before Tampa Bay’s game against Dallas, the Buccaneers had given up multiple touchdowns in five straight games, including three games where they allowed more than 300 passing yards. Sanchez looked very solid in his three abbreviated preseason appearances this year, completing 63 percent of his passes for 320 yards and three touchdowns with no turnovers. Given Sanchez’s prior experience stepping in for this offense, the gameplan isn’t expected to change too much, suggesting he can find success.

Running Backs

Dexter McCluster, TEN

Dexter McCluster has yet to make the impact that many feel he is capable of. Still, the 27-year-old back out of Ole Miss has carved out a role in this offense due to his versatility. With no consistent go-to back in Tennessee, McCluster is a lock for at least a handful of carries and receptions each game.

The Titans’ matchup with the Jaguars is an exploitable one for McCluster, as the Jaguars have struggled to stop opposing backs and receivers. With Bishop Sankey receiving just two carries in the last four weeks, and Antonio Andrews struggling to truly produce as a lead-back, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see McCluster continue to see an expanded share of the touches out of the backfield. Even if he doesn’t have a huge game, he’s guaranteed to get fantasy owners something.

Jay Ajayi, MIA

Yes, Lamar Miller is the Dolphins’ starter and is currently the fourth-highest scoring fantasy running back. In theory, his position should be locked. But over the last three weeks, Miller has received 37 carries, and only churned out 102 yards. Jay Ajayi, the rookie out of Boise State, only has 11 carries on the season, but he’s taken those for 89 yards.

While Miller’s job security is not in doubt due to his ability to catch out of the backfield, Ajayi has certainly made a case for himself to receive a few more touches. Based on what he’s shown so far, a few more touches may be all he needs to make something major happen. If you’re in need of a Bye week filler, Ajayi could be a solid option against the Cowboys’ defense that has allowed the third-most points to opposing backs.

Wide Receivers

Danny Amendola, NE

Danny Amendola may be the hottest waiver wire commodity this week. With Julian Edelman expected to miss significant time due to his Week 10 injury, Amendola is the likely candidate to fill the void left by one of the league’s elite slot receivers.

Amendola already has already posted three games with at least seven catches this year, so we know Tom Brady isn’t scared to look his way. Last week, he pulled down 10 catches as Edelman was forced out of the game. Assuming Amendola can stay healthy, he should be a top option moving forward in Edelman’s absence.

Jamison Crowder, WSH

Jamison Crowder has now put together seven solid games in a row, catching for at least 40 yards in each. After catching his first touchdown of the season last week against the Saints, Kirk Cousins may start looking his way even more.

Crowder’s ceiling will surely be lowered against a stingy Carolina defense, but his consistency has shown that his floor should remain relatively high – making him a decent flex play in deeper leagues.

Tight Ends

Jacob Tamme, ATL

After posting 16 catches for 164 yards and a touchdown over his last two games, Jacob Tamme’s ownership actually dropped by 6 percent because the Falcons had their bye last week. Coming off the bye, there’s a high chance a lot of owners have completely forgotten about the Falcons’ tight end.

The Colts have given up at least 79 yards and a touchdown to opposing tight ends in their last four games, meaning Tamme could be in line for another big game. Only owned in 22 percent of leagues, many owners may find a gem at such a shallow position heading into the playoffs.

Coby Fleener, IND

Remember what happened last time Matt Hasselbeck took over for Andrew Luck? Coby Fleener posted his best game of the season, catching nine passes for 83 yards and a touchdown.

When Hasselbeck takes the field, he’ll surely look back to his security blanket until he gets comfortable under center again. Expect another solid showing from the big tight end.
