Dhoni's place in Indian Cricket's Indian T20I team has became topic of debate after that sloppy innings from him in Rajkot's T20 International match against New Zealand. As Virat Kohli played a great inning against New Zealand but didn't found support from the other end resulting loss in the match. After that match Dhoni has got so many criticism. But Virat Kohli backed Dhoni saying that why to target only one player as it is all about whole team's performance. Indian team's head coach also backs M S Dhoni saying that "There are a few people who are waiting to see the end of MS Dhoni . But great players like him decide their own future."
Talking about criticism Shastri stated that 'It doesn't make a difference to me . In our mind we know where Dhoni stands within the team. He is an ultimate team man. He was a great leader and now an ultimate team man.'
Shastri also exposed his view on television show's interview in which such topics are discussed. He stated that 'Not so long ago I used to do television and people used to ask me questions. You need to answer questions to make a show happen.' He added 'Dhoni is a superstar. He is one of our greatest cricketers. When you have a career as glorious as that , you become a topic on television.'
