The Blue Angels are in town. Here’s why.

The U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron Blue Angels arrive aboard MCAS Beaufort on Wednesday, November 16. The squadron is visiting to plan and coordinate with air station leaders for the upcoming 2017 MCAS Beaufort Air Show. The mission of the Blue Angels is to “showcase the pride and professionalism of the Navy and Marine Corps by inspiring a culture of excellence and service to country through flight demonstrations and community outreach.” Lance Cpl. An F/A 18 Hornet and C-130 Hercules from the U.S. Navy demonstration squadron arrived at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort on Wednesday to plan for the 2017 MCAS Beaufort Air Show. The air show is April 29-30, 2017. Past shows have included military aircraft, aerial performances and a demonstration of the Marine Corps’ air and ground capabilities, a news release said. The Blue Angels headline the show.
